Introduction
Let's get ready for the new special set, Shrouded Fable, with new deck ideas - both updated old decks and entirely new strategies.
We also listed some "rogue decks", if you just want to have fun!
Decks with Shrouded Fable
Okidogi ex
The idea behind this deck is to poison Okidogi ex SFA 36 to use its second attack, Chain-Crazed and this way knock out enemy Pokémon. To do that, you'll also play Brute Bonnet sv4 123, which, when equipped with Ancient Booster Energy Capsule TEF 140, poisons both active Pokémon with its ability, Toxic Powder. That's how you'll set up your combo.

Then, Radiant Hisuian Sneasler LOR 123's ability will give you even more damage counters to put on poisoned Pokémon in between turns.
A great addition to this deck is Janine's Secret Art SFA 59, which is how you'll attach energies to your Pokémon. If you attach energies to your active Pokémon with this card, you'll poison them, which is perfect for Okidogi ex SFA 36. Finally, you'll deal even more damage with Binding Mochi SFA 55.
Kingdra ex
This list follows a familiar concept that we mentioned before in our article about Night Wanderer: using King's Orders to put three Water Pokémon on your bench directly.
This version still uses sniper damage, but there are a few subtle differences. Kingdra LOR 37, for instance, shuffles either your opponent's hand or yours with its ability.
Hisuian Samurott-VStar - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable, 1st Version
This deck's main goal is to put damage counters on enemy Pokémon to deal even more damage with Hisuian Samurott VSTAR ASR 102's attack, Merciless Blade.
To do that, you need to equip Brute Bonnet sv4 123 with Ancient Booster Energy Capsule TEF 140. Its ability, Toxic Powder, poisons both Pokémon, so that's how Hisuian Samurott VSTAR ASR 102 will deal 220 damage. Of course, if you want to deal that amount of damage right away, just use its VStar ability, Moon Cleave Star, which lets you put 4 damage counters on any enemy Pokémon.
Radiant Hisuian Sneasler LOR 123's ability, finally, will give you even more damage counters to put on poisoned enemy Pokémon in between turns.
And, whenever you want to move some counters from your own Pokémon after they took some damage, just use Munkidori TWM 95's ability, Adrena-Brain. This will also help you set up Hisuian Samurott VSTAR ASR 102's Merciless Blade combo!
Hisuian Samurott-VStar - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable, 2nd Version
This deck works similarly to the one above, but there are a few key differences:
- As the meta is currently dominated by the iconic Lost Box Pokémon, many players use Colress's Experiment LOR 155. So, we included Kyurem SFA 47 as a sniper attacker - if you manage to deal 110 damage to three enemy Pokémon with it, it'll be a lot easier to play your combo.
- Roaring Moon ex PR-SV 67 is also a new attacker.
Charizard ex Terastal - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable, 1st Version
There is a slight difference in this deck, namely Duskull's evolution line, Dusclops SFA 69 and Dusknoir SFA 70. Their ability, Cursed Blast, gives you damage counters to put on any enemy Pokémon, but you'll have to sacrifice them (and thus give your opponent a Prize card).
And that's why Charizard ex sv4pt5 54's attack, Burning Darkness, is great in this deck: it deals 30 extra damage for each Prize card your opponent has taken!

You can also use Entei V BRS 22 and its ability, Fleet-Footed. With Forest Seal Stone SIT 156, you can use Entei to get one specific card from your deck, and it's an excellent attacker as well.
Charizard ex Terastal - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable, 2nd Version
This version is significantly different. For instance:
- We included Pidgeot ex sv3 164, Bibarel PR-SW SWSH188, and Fezandipiti ex SFA 38 and its ability, Flip the Script.
- We'll also use Regidrago VSTAR SIT 136 to copy Dragapult ex TWM 130's second attack, and put damage counters on enemy Benched Pokémon. Naturally, we also had to add Rabsca TEF 24 because of its ability, which protects our Benched Pokémon from enemy effects or attacks. In turn, we had to add other basic Pokémon as well.
- Finally, we added Bidoof from Sword/Shield: Brilliant Stars.
The best thing about this deck is how aggressive it can be:
For instance, you can put Mawile LOR 71 as your active Pokémon and use its attack, Tempting Trap.
If Pecharunt ex SFA 39 and Charizard ex sv4pt5 54 are on your bench, use Pecharunt's ability, Subjugating Chains to swap Charizard ex sv4pt5 54 with your active Pokémon. The only drawback is that it will be Poisoned.
- As Charizard ex sv4pt5 54 will be poisoned, you'll be able to use Binding Mochi SFA 55's effect to deal an extra 40 damage!
With this setup, you'll deal, at the very least, 310 damage (180+90+40) if your opponent took no Prize cards.
Regidrago VStar - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable
Regidrago VSTAR SIT 136's attack, Apex Dragon, lets you copy the attack of a Dragon Pokémon in your discard pile. So, we added Dragapult ex TWM 130 from Scarlet/Violet: Twilight Masquerade because of its attack, Phantom Dive.
Then, we added two new cards:
- Haxorus SFA 46 and its attack, Bring Down the Axe. If your opponent's active Pokémon has any special energies attached, they'll be automatically knocked out.
- Kyurem SFA 47 to answer Lost Box decks because of Colress's Experiment LOR 155.
Lugia-VStar - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable
The new card in this deck is Zoroark SFA 32, which we added to deal with Gardevoir ex sv4pt5 29. You'll use Zoroark to deal double damage, after applying weakness.
But that's not all: its first attack, Illusory Hijacking, deals 60 damage for each Pokémon ex an V on the enemy board. It's easy to set up, as you only need one Double Turbo Energy BRS 151.
Arceus-VStar + Duskull + Dusclops + Dusknoir - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable
Arceus VSTAR PR-SW SWSH307 has been strong ever since it was released. It's still a great attacker despite the fact Double Turbo Energy ASR 216 makes it deal less damage, as its first effect lets you attach up to three basic energies to your Pokémon V.
I highly recommend you play Alolan Vulpix VSTAR SIT 34 in this list because of its main attack and its effect, which protects it against any Pokémon ability. The current meta is littered with abilities.

Finally, we added Dusclops SFA 69 and Dusknoir SFA 70 as secondary sources of damage because of their abilities, Cursed Blast.
Ancient Box - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable
This deck centers around the Darkness archetype. The main stars are Roaring Moon TEF 109 and its first attack, and Roaring Moon ex PR-SV 67, which is great against high-HP Pokémon.
To move your Darkness Pokémon from the bench to the active position, you have Pecharunt ex SFA 39's ability.
Then, as your Ancient Pokémon, you have these two answers:
- Great Tusk TEF 97 and its first attack, Land Collapse, which "mills" your opponent's deck.
- Slither Wing SFA 26 and its first attack, Iron Smasher, to apply weakness against Future Pokémon, namely Iron Hands ex sv4 70 and Iron Thorns ex TWM 77.
United Wings - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable
Since Paldea Evolved, we only had one United Wings list: this one. To it, we added Dartrix SFA 4, which can deal up to 330 damage with its attack if you apply weakness.
Furthermore, we also added the ACE SPEC Secret BOX TWM 163 for support. With it, you'll discard these Bird Pokémon faster to deal even more damage. It's a cheap deck and easy to set up if you want to have fun.
Decidueye ex “Sniper” - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable
Decidueye ex sv3 15's attack, Hunting Arrow, doesn't deal a lot of sniper damage, but, with Kyurem SFA 47 and its ability, Plasma Bane, this deck is still great against Lost Box decks (and their Colress's Experiment LOR 155).
The longer the match, the easier it will be to knock out enemy Pokémon, so, we also use Hisuian Decidueye ASR 82. Its first attack is perfect against Electric Pokémon like Iron Hands ex sv4 70 and Iron Thorns ex TWM 77.
Spinda SIT 141 is the best option if you want to start dealing AoE damage early on. Later on, you just need to move your damage counters around with Radiant Alakazam SIT 59.
Hisuian Zoroark-VStar - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable, 1st Version
Playing Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR PR-SW SWSH298 is simple: put damage counters on your Pokémon. That's how you'll deal even more damage with its attack, as it deals 50 damage for each Pokémon with a damage counter on your board.
For this version, I added Baxcalibur PR-SV 19 to attach Basic Water Energy sv2 279 to any Pokémon you need. Iron Hands ex sv4 70 and its attack, Amp You Very Much, will help you knock out enemy Pokémon as well.
To make your Pokémon more durable, you'll also have Munkidori TWM 95 and its ability, Adrena-Brain.
But first, to "put damage counters on your Pokémon", you need to discard Gengar LOR 66 and use its ability. Then, move the counters from your Pokémon with Damage Pump LOR 156.
Hisuian Zoroark-VStar - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable, 2nd Version
In this version, to put damage counters on your Pokémon, we added 3 copies of Doduo sv3pt5 84 and Dodrio sv3pt5 85. With Dodrio sv3pt5 85's ability, Zooming Draw, besides that, you will also draw cards.
Ad
Then, to protect your Dodrio sv3pt5 85 from Radiant Greninja ASR 46's "sniper" attacks, or Dragapult ex TWM 130's "spread" attacks, you have Rabsca TEF 24. Its ability will protect Dodrio in both situations.
At the end of the game, your best attacker is Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex TWM 141.
Snorlax “Control” - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable
In this version of Snorlax, we added Xerosic's Machinations SFA 64, which will destroy your opponent's hand and force them to discard all their cards until they only have three in hand.
Honorable Mentions - Rogue Decks
Dusknoir
Dusknoir - Lost Box
Spread Tech: Dusknoir + Froslass + Spinda + Yveltal
Crobat - “Spread Tech”
Conkeldurr - Upgraded with Shrouded Fable
This is an upgraded version of this list.
