The Most Beautiful Cards from Everyday WondersAll Zoned OutYou know those days when you find yourself staring into space and thinking about everything and nothing at all? These four Pokémon are in that exact headspace, and they are also part of one of the secret missions in this set.All four are a bit slow and pensive, and the thick outlines paired with simpler colors suit them perfectly. Plus, they all have such silly expressions, making the artwork incredibly cute. This is a wonderful little collection of cards!Sleepy TimeWhile the previous group was just distracted, the members of this one have completely given in to sleep. This is one of the cutest art collections in the entire set, and it fits the core everyday theme perfectly. On top of that, they are also part of a secret mission!Among the five, I find the sleeping Raichu nestled in the flowers to be the most adorable. Raichu is usually seen as a tougher, more aggressive Pokémon, so this art beautifully softens its strong personality.Pikachu and Wooper with BubblesBoth illustrations share a fun aquatic theme in their backgrounds.Pikachu looks incredibly cute with its sparkling eyes. Additionally, the rainbow soap effect on the bubbles looks gorgeous, giving this Pikachu art a more magical feel.Dedenne ex - ImmersiveThis is a cute piece of art that truly fits the expansion's theme. The immersive animation camera glides through cozy spaces, showing an environment filled with Dedennes and fun easter eggs. It is adorable, but I do not think it should have been the only immersive card in the set. Imagine how lovely it would be if we had an immersive card featuring a pile of puppies, for example. To me, Dedenne is not a highly charismatic Pokémon. In fact, it does not even appear on the booster packs for Everyday Wonders, and it is not the featured Pokémon, which is Mega Diancie ex. Although this Dedenne ex card itself is good, the Pokémon is simply not as eye-catching as Lucario or Pikachu, another electric rodent, for example.Puppy-Loving GirlI consider Puppy-Loving Girl to be one of the cards that best represents this new set, especially since the expansion is packed with puppies, and she is one of the main cards that makes the Puppy Pile archetype viable.Even though she only exists in Pocket, she is a very charismatic character. Her outfit and design perfectly capture a child who loves puppies, looking neat and full of cute details. The Full Art card, where the camera looks down on her from a high angle, is also incredible. It feels as though we are the puppy she is calling out to or wanting to pick up. I love it!Vulpix Art RareVulpix is a first-generation Pokémon beloved by many long-time fans. This artwork features highly pleasant colors, and you can see Vulpix trying to breathe fire, almost looking like it is yawning. Incredibly cute!I am only sad that Vulpix is not part of the Puppy Pile archetype. It has canine-like features, even though it is clearly based on a fox, as seen with Ninetales, but Vulpix is still a puppy at heart. It would be great to use its cards in such a fun archetype.Mareanie Common & Art RareMareanie is a Pokémon that brings a chaotic, mischievous, and aggressive energy, similar to Jinx from League of Legends. In fact, even the color palette is somewhat similar. On the Common card, Mareanie is a bit more cheerful and actually quite cute. On the Art Rare, however, she completely won me over. The color palette is incredible, and even though it is vibrant, it does not feel overwhelming or gaudy. The focus on the Pokémon’s eyes is excellent, and her expression, looking like she is about to play a prank, is fantastic.Milotic ex Super RareNormally, I do not care much for Super Rares because they tend to feel a bit generic and overly shiny, which takes the focus away from the Pokémon itself and results in a confusing visual clutter. However, this artwork is exceptionally good! The focus is kept on Milotic, its mysterious expression is very charming, and the background is not overly colorful, which keeps the card clean and emphasizes the featured Pokémon.Hisuian Zoroark ex - Super RareMy thoughts on this art are similar to those for the Milotic ex Super Rare. However, here, Zoroark looks even more majestic, with its hair flowing dynamically across the card, a pose that makes it look ready to strike, and beautifully harmonious colors. I really like this one!Hisuian Zoroark ex - Special Art RareIf the previous artwork was incredible, this one is even better! The mysterious tone of the art, set amidst the snow (which matches the color of Hisuian Zoroark’s fur), with the wind blowing and the Pokémon’s hair swaying, makes for a gorgeous composition. It almost looks like the Pokémon is a spirit or an apparition in the snow. It is something that feels striking and eerie; you are not sure whether to admire it or fear it as it stands there watching. The reddish accent in the middle of the snow is a brilliant touch, making the Pokémon stand out even in a blizzard.Milotic ex - Special Art RareIn addition to Milotic, this illustration features other aquatic Pokémon sharing its ecosystem, such as Luvdisc and Feebas. The light filtering down from above the water looks amazing, highlighting Milotic as it moves gracefully through the water, floating effortlessly while watching to see what happens next.Furthermore, the colors are very soothing, and the ecosystem details are highly meticulous. This artwork was clearly crafted with a lot of love. It is reminiscent of the TCG Full Art card set where, if you combine Feebas and Milotic, you get a similar stunning result.ConclusionThis set has brought us some truly beautiful special art, along with incredibly cute Pokémon and puppies.
