However, in terms of competitive play, other Water-type Pokémon with more versatile abilities and higher damage output may be preferred, such as Blastoise & Piplup-GX. Frost Rotom RR RT2 could be situational tech in certain decks but may not be a staple due to its limited damage potential and reliance on opponent's Retreat Costs.
