. The set’s lore centers on the nostalgic return to Johto, featuring iconic Pokémon such as Lugia and Ho-Oh, as well as the beloved Johto starters—Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile—highlighting the bond between Trainers and their Pokémon. Mechanically, the set marked a significant shift in the Pokémon TCG by reintroducing Pokémon Prime, powerful cards with unique artwork and enhanced abilities, and Pokémon LEGEND cards, which required two halves to be played together for a single, stronger Pokémon with high HP and devastating attacks.
