This Giovanni's Gyarados G2 card could benefit a water-type deck that focuses on disruption and strategic switching of opponent's Pokémon. However, in a competitive setting, there are more efficient stage 1 water-type Pokémon cards with stronger attacks and abilities that offer better value and consistency, such as Blastoise & Piplup-GX or Keldeo-GX. Therefore, Giovanni's Gyarados G2 may not be the optimal choice for competitive play but could still be fun to use in casual or themed decks for its unique abilities.
