About
Aquapolis is a 2003 Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion set in the e-Card series, inspired by the mysterious, high-tech city of the same name from the Pokémon universe, where cutting-edge technology and ancient Pokémon lore intersect. The set captures a sense of exploration and discovery, featuring Pokémon from the Johto and Kanto regions as well as the debut of the Crystal Pokémon—extremely rare and powerful cards like Crystal Lugia—that shimmer with unique artwork and mechanics. Aquapolis is known for its use of the e-Reader compatibility, allowing players to scan the dot codes on the cards to unlock additional data, mini-games, or Pokédex information on the Game Boy Advance. Mechanically, it includes intricate card designs with new attacks, Pokémon Powers, and strategic Trainer cards, emphasizing depth and tactical play, while its visually striking holographic patterns and detailed artwork have made it one of the most celebrated and collectible sets in Pokémon TCG history.
