According to a recent announcement by The Pokémon Company, we will soon receive themed decks featuring the Mega Evolution mechanic, starring Mega Gengar and Mega Diancie.
The product format will be similar to the Rival Battle Deck
, which is a pre-built deck designed for competitive play.
These products will be released on September 5th in Japan and on October 24th in the West, alongside the upcoming thematic collection from the Mega Evolution block, called Phantasmal Flames. It will feature parts of trademarks such as Inferno X and others that will complement the Western release.
Main Card Review
Mega Gengar ex
- Ability Shadow Sneak: While this Pokémon is in play, any of your Darkness-type (D) Pokémon knocked out by damage from your opponent's Pokémon ex will make the opponent take one less Prize card (this ability CANNOT stack).
- Void Gale: Deals 230 damage and moves one Energy attached to this Pokémon to one of your Benched Pokémon.
Mega Diancie ex
- Ability Dia Coat: This Pokémon takes 30 less damage from attacks by your opponent's Pokémon.
- Garland Ray: Discard up to 2 Energies attached to this Pokémon; this attack will deal 120 damage for each Energy discarded this way.
Trainers
Punk Helmet
Tool: If your Darkness-type (D) Pokémon has this card attached to it and is in the Active position, anytime the opponent deals damage to your Pokémon, place 4 damage counters on their Active Pokémon.
Wonder Patch
Item: Attach a basic Psychic-type (P) Energy to one of your Benched Psychic-type Pokémon.
