This Houndoom-EX card could be beneficial in a Fire-type deck focused on disruption and energy acceleration. Its ability to discard cards from the opponent's deck can disrupt their strategy, while the Grand Flame attack provides energy acceleration. However, in the current meta, there are more powerful and versatile Fire-type EX cards available, such as Volcanion-EX or Reshiram & Charizard-GX, which offer stronger attacks and abilities. Therefore, while Houndoom-EX can be fun to play with, it may not be the most competitive choice in a deck.
