About the Deck

Today, we'll show you how to play one of the best decks for tournaments and the ranked queue: Mega Altaria ex with Indeedee ex.

This is one of the best decks of all time when it comes to efficiency: all Pokémon in it need at most 2 energies to attack and are easy and fast to set up. Let's see how it works.

Deck Guide: Mega Altaria ex - Too Efficient

The main idea behind this list is to put many Pokémon on the bench to deal more damage with Mega Altaria ex. In particular, you'll put on your bench a few basic Pokémon that will be quite helpful in a few matchups.

For instance, Jirachi is a great frontline Pokémon against Mega Gyarados ex because it can knock out Magikarp on turn 2. It can also knock out many other Pokémon with two attacks, like Eevee, Torchic, and Froakie, which are quite popular.

Then we have Indeedee ex, which is currently the best healing card in Pokémon Pocket. It will keep your Mega Altaria ex alive so that it can attack several times.

One of this list's greatest strengths is how efficient its Pokémon are: all of them only need, at most, two energies to attack and are fast to set up. This means you can use other Pokémon to win besides Mega Altaria ex, like, for instance, Indeedee ex.

Strengths and Main Strategy

Start with Jirachi or Swablu in the active spot, preferably Jirachi.

Use Lisa to get your basic Pokémon from your deck and start attaching energies to them equally. That means spreading them out instead of focusing on a single Pokémon.

Then, fill your board with Pokémon, preferably like so: two Indeedee ex and one Jirachi.

After that, all you need to do is attack with Mega Altaria ex until you win.

This list is great against most decks, especially against basic Pokémon with 60 HP or less. It leans on two very strong foundations: a main frontline Pokémon and a main attacking Pokémon that deals a lot of damage. This makes it, mathematically, one of the most efficient lists in the game.

Weaknesses

Because it fills the board with Pokémon, however, it naturally struggles against Sabrina and Cyrus, and there's nothing you can do about them besides manually swapping your Pokémon afterward.

Indeedee ex has just enough HP to be dangerous, that is, less than 140 HP. Most stage 2 Pokémon ex and Mega Evolution can knock it out, and those are a few of the most popular cards in the meta right now.

Tips and Tricks

Altaria B1-197 is the main win condition against Oricorio. If you're not facing these opponents often, you could swap it out for a Pokémon Communication, Repel, or Pokémon Center Lady.

We don't really recommend you play Swablu as your frontline Pokémon, but it is a great way to delay your opponent for at least one turn.

Indeedee ex can be a formidable attacker depending on the matchup. It deals 150 damage to Mega Gyarados ex, for instance.

Rocky Helmet is essential against other Mega decks or fast decks. It will deal that little bit of damage you need to knock out enemy Pokémon.

As this list plays lots of Pokémon on the board, you'll run out of cards fast. Copycat will refill your hand. To use it properly, you should let the opponent hoard cards in their hand.
