Introduction
The last special set in the Scarlet & Violet block, Black Bolt & White Flare, came out just a week ago on July 18th, 2025. As such, now we know how much each new card costs on average. We are ready to review the entire market as a whole and see the most valuable collectibles.
As usual, how accessible and rare these cards are (something that may vary from country to country), the language they're in, and many other details affect these prices directly.
Please note that we'll show you how much these cards cost in US dollars and that these prices may still vary in the future. Like any other market, the Pokémon TCG market oscillates each day.
Top 10 Most Expensive Cards from Blak Bolt & White Flare
10 - Serperior ex (Black Bolt Set - Secret Illustration Art - 164/086)

This card was illustrated by Ryota Murayama and has a lot of potential for Standard. It could become one of the best Grass attackers in the meta because its main attack lets you search for any 3 cards in your deck and add them to your hand.
Ryota Murayama has been working on and off for The Pokémon Company since the X/Y era. For collectors, their most valuable work is the Sun & Moon Reshiram & Charizard-GX PR-SM SM201 promo.
Price: US$65.
9 - N's Plan (Black Bolt Set - Secret Illustration Art - 170/066)

This N card is one of the few Secret Illustration Art humans ever released, like Hilda.
It was illustrated by REND, who has been a very relevant Pokémon artist for a while now. We mention them often when we discuss the the most beautiful cards from each set.
REND started working for The Pokémon Company after winning the 2022 Illustration Contest with Arcanine PR-SW SWSH304.
Price: US$79.36.
8 - Hilda (White Flare Set - Secret Illustration Art - 171/086)

This supporter is the only one that truly has potential for Standard. Hilda lets you search in your deck and add to your hand not only an evolution Pokémon but also an energy - basic or special.
It was illustrated by Naoki Saito, who has worked for The Pokémon Company since Heart Gold & Soul Silver. Occasionally, they also create concept art for the VGC, particularly of the maps in-game, the Unova region, and to develop characters like Scarlet & Violet's Iono.

Price: US$95.
7 - Kyurem ex (Black Bolt Set - Secret Illustration Art - 165/086)

This artwork was created by chibi, another veteran Pokémon artist. They started to work for The Pokémon Company in the X/Y era with the Azelf PR-XY XY142 promo. Since then, they haven't done much extensive work for the game, but they're always called again. In total, their portfolio includes 45 physical cards and a few illustrations for Pokémon TCG Pocket as well.
Kyurem's second attack is a "sniper" attack, as it deals 10 damage to each Pokémon on the enemy bench for each Prize card they have taken.
This artwork is incredibly technical. It depicts a crystal cave from the ground, facing up. Crystals close to the observer are slightly blurred, which is a great representation of how the human eye sees objects up close. Finally, this magnificent Dragon is as static as "ice" at the center of the illustration.
Price: US$ 150.
6 - Hydreigon ex (White Flare Set - Secret Illustration Art - 169/086)

This card was illustrated by Takumi Wada, who we mentioned in our article about the most beautiful cards from Destined Rivals. We ranked their Zamazenta the third most beautiful card in this set, in fact. They have worked for the Pokémon Company since the Sword & Shield era, after they competed at a Grand Prix.
They're incredibly talented and have worked for other franchises as well, such as The Legend of Zelda. Particularly for Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild.
This Hydreigon ex is aesthetically similar to Hydreigon ex SSP 240, by Akira Egawa, as they both capture the majestic essence of this Pokémon.
Its ability is quite interesting: whenever this Pokémon Knocks Out a basic enemy Pokémon with an attack, you may draw an extra Prize card. Now that this card is out, we can hope The Pokémon Company will soon release a new card to help us attach Darkness energies to Pokémon in Standard.
Price: US$170.
5 - Keldeo ex (White Flare Set - Secret Illustration Art - 167/086)

This delicate and slightly childish artwork is everything Yuu Nishida is known for. They're also responsible for the Gardevoir that won the 2018 Pokémon Card Game Illustration Grand Prix.

We mentioned Yuu Nishida in our article about the greatest Pokémon artists in the game.
Like other Nishida works, this one is quite delicate, so it's very valuable to collectors. Unfortunately, this Pokémon won't be relevant in Standard competitively speaking.
Price: US$190.
4 - Reshiram ex (White Flare Set - Secret Illustration Art - 166/086)

This card was illustrated by Kawaguchi Yoohei, or kawayoo. They have worked for the Pokémon Company since the Diamong & Pearl era and, as of now, have built a portfolio with over 200 cards. They were also responsible for most promos in the game during the Heart Gold & Soul Silver era. Pikachu & Zekrom-GX PR-SM SM168, from the Sun & Moon era, is one of their most relevant artworks.

kawayoo often leans on a digital "oil painting" style to make their Pokémon more serious.
Reshiram's Blazing Burst attack deals 130 damage plus 50 damage for each Prize card the opponent has taken, but it also forces you to discard a card from it. In total, you can deal up to 380 damage with it.
Price: US$285.
3 - Zekrom ex (Black Bolt Set - Secret Illustration Art - 166/086)

This card was illustrated by danciao, a new Pokémon artist. They have only created 10 physical cards and 4 Pokémon TCG Pocket cards so far.
Zekrom's second attack, Voltage Burst, is similar to Reshiram's attack, but it deals more damage. It also deals 50 damage to itself.
Price: US$335.
2 - Reshiram ex (White Flare Set - Black & White Rare - 173/086)

This special card is a reference to the Black & White Reshiram from 2011, Reshiram BLW 113. Both "Full Arts" are entirely white. Note the details, like the attack cost, are also monochromatic.
Price: US$550.
1 - Zekrom ex (Black Bolt Set - Black & White Rare - 172/086)

Just like Reshiram ex WHT 173, this card is a reference to Zekrom BLW 114 from 2011. It is fully black.
Price: US$725.
Honorable Mentions
Victini (Black & White Rare Monochromatic - Black Bolt Set #171/White Flare Set #172

Just like Reshiram ex WHT 173 and Zekrom ex BLK 172, this Victini is also monochromatic. This might have to do with the ideology behind this Pokémon, which represents "Victory" in the Pokémon world.
The Japanese version costs US$1359 as of the day we're writing this article.
Price: US$550.
