Introduction

In today's article, we'll explore a Paralysis deck centered around Weavile SFA 14 as the main attacker. The goal is to take advantage of a few baby Pokémon and avoid as much as possible Rule Box Pokémon, like Blaziken ex JTG 24, which is quite popular.

That being said, let's go!

Deck Structure

Weavile: Main Attacker

We'll focus on its second attack, Hail Claw. If you discard all Water energies attached to this Pokémon, you may Paralyze the opponent's active Pokémon.

As such, the opponent won't be able to attack or retreat their Pokémon in the following turn. They'll be forced to use cards like Switch MEG 130 to retreat it.

The greatest question is, how do you keep getting Water energies to make this combo work?

That's precisely why this list plays two incredibly essential recursive Pokémon.

Recursive Pokémon

Clawitzer and Dewgong: The Energy Combo

Its ability, Fall Back to Reload, lets you, when you move this Pokémon to your active spot from the bench, attach 2 Basic Water Energy sv2 279 from your hand to it.

As for Dewgong, its ability, Wash Out, is available at any point in the turn. It lets you move 1 Basic Water Energy sv2 279 from one of your benched Pokémon to your active Pokémon.

So, how do you use this combo?

1) You must always attach your Water energies to Weavile SFA 14. To do that, you'll need to set up Clawitzer MEG 38 on your bench, then move it to your active spot, and then play Air Balloon BLK 79 to it.

2) When you pull energies with Clawitzer MEG 38's ability, you'll promote Weavile SFA 14 and put it in your active spot. That's when you'll use Dewgong POR 19. Its ability will let you move the energies attached to Clawitzer MEG 38 to Weavile SFA 14.

3) To move these Pokémon, particularly Weavile SFA 14 after you discard energies from it, you'll need Surfing Beach MEG 129. This Stadium will make sure you can retreat your Water Pokémon, but Weavile SFA 14 will still need Powerglass SFA 63, while Clawitzer MEG 38 will still need Air Balloon BLK 79.

Recursive Pokémon

Budew PRE 4's attack sabotages the opponent, as it prevents them from playing items in the following turn.

Rabsca TEF 24's ability, Spherical Shield, protects your benched Pokémon from enemy attacks and attack effects.

Please note that attack/damage is different from effects.

Damage in this case refers to those caused by sniper attacks, like Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex PRE 27's Torrential Pump. Spread attacks, in turn, put damage counters in play, like Dragapult ex PRE 73's Phantom Dive.

Shaymin DRI 10's ability, Flower Curtain, protects your benched baby Pokémon from enemy attacks. It is the fastest way to protect your bench from sniper attacks.

Dudunsparce TEF 129's ability, Run Away Draw, draws 3 cards, but afterward you'll have to return this Pokémon and all cards attached to it to your deck.

Lillie's Determination MEG 119 lets you shuffle your hand back into your deck and draw 6 new cards. If you have exactly 6 Prize cards left, you'll draw 8 cards instead of 6.

Surfer SSP 187 lets you retreat your active Pokémon and draw until you have 5 cards in hand.

Lana's Aid TWM 155 recycles 3 cards from your discard pile, including basic energies and baby Pokémon, that is, Pokémon without a rule box!

Boss's Orders MEG 114 pulls an enemy benched Pokémon to the active spot. You should use it to knock out a specific enemy Pokémon.

Items to Get Pokémon and Resources

Ultra Ball MEG 131 lets you look for any Pokémon in your deck, basic or evolution, and put it in your hand, as long as you discard 2 cards from your hand.

Buddy-Buddy Poffin TEF 144 lets you look for 2 basic Pokémon with up to 70 HP in your deck and put them on your bench.

Poké Pad POR 81 lets you get a baby Pokémon from your deck, that is, those that don't have a rule box.

Item to Get Supporters

Pokégear 3.0 lets you look at the top 7 cards in your deck and get a Supporter from there.

Items to Recycle Pokémon and Basic Energies

Night Stretcher SFA 61 lets you recycle one basic energy or Pokémon.

Energy Recycler DRI 164 lets you recycle up to 5 basic energies from the discard pile and put them in your deck.

Sacred Ash DRI 168 lets you recycle up to 5 Pokémon in your discard pile and put them back in your deck.

Tools

Powerglass SFA 63 recycles a basic energy from the discard pile and lets you attach it to your active Pokémon as long as it has this Tool attached.

You must attach it to Weavile SFA 14 because of its attack, Hail Claw.

Air Balloon BLK 79 lets you retreat the Pokémon it is attached to for 2 colorless energies less.

You must equip it to Clawitzer MEG 38.

Stadium

This card lets you move your Water Pokémon around.

ACE SPEC

This ACE SPEC is considered an Item. It lets you get up to 3 stage 1 evolution Pokémon from your deck, so it's great to set up your main Pokémon: Weavile SFA 14, Clawitzer MEG 38, and Dewgong POR 19.

Final Words

This deck is easy to build, budget-friendly, and a great option if you enjoy Paralysis strategies.

Still, we're still testing it, so it could change a lot. It already has a lot of potential because it plays baby Pokémon and a very consistent combo and doesn't rely on Blaziken ex JTG 24, which is usually the easiest build when the matter is Weavile SFA 14.
