Hello everybody! Today's deck proposes spread, that is, spreading damage counters among the Pokémon, going over recursive Pokémon with the "Bench Protector" function such as Manaphy BRS 41 and Mew UNB 76. The damage counter is not considered as direct damage, so we can exploit this attack route.

This is a “single prize” deck, that can deal a lot of damage to the opponent and leave them in trouble: we have Weezing UNB 74 from Sun/Moon: Unbroken Bonds, now boosted with some Pokémon like Radiant Alakazam SIT 59 that spreads damage counters among the opponent's Pokémon, and two Mimikyu (Mimikyu LOR 80 and Mimikyu DAA 81).

Koffing & Weezing: the main attackers

Loading icon

Here our goal is to spread as many damage counters as possible with Koffing, if possible, using its discard effect with Roxie CEC 205, to further develop the game for Weezing.

The Old Cemetery CRE 147 stadium helps a lot, where if any non-Psychic Pokémon has some energy attached to it from the player's hand, it will take 2 damage counters. As we only have Psychic Pokémon, we have the advantage of not suffering this side effect, unlike the opponent.

Here our primary objective is to start with Koffing CEC 76 to seed the counters, then Weezing UNB 74 plays the role of finishing the damage and stamping even more counters, this along Old Cemetery CRE 147 as part of the combo.

We can also use the Spell Tag LOT 190 tool.

Blacephalon

This one is situational for the second game condition, having great destructive power if you have 3 prize cards in play, and in that, being able to place 12 damage counters, closing many knockouts if the Weezing UNB 74 did a lot of damage early on.

Mimikyu

The Pokémon's second attack is insanely good. Imagine the massive, high damage possibilities you can put into play! Assuming your opponent already has 22 damage counters on all of their Pokémon, then Mimikyu can deal 220 damage for just two Energy!

Recursive Pokémon

- Radiant Alakazam SIT 59 comes in because of its ability Painful Spoons, which makes you move 2 damage counters from one of your opponent's Pokémon to another.

- Mimikyu DAA 81 has Heal Jamming, which makes the opponent unable to heal their Benched Pokémon.

Trainer Cards

Loading icon

- Roxie CEC 205 allows you to discard up to 2 Pokémon from your hand that aren't EX or GX, and if you do, you draw 3 cards for each Pokémon you discarded in that process.

- Bruno BST 121 is used to shuffle your hand and draw up to 4 cards. However, if your Pokémon was Knocked Out the previous turn, you'll draw 7 cards instead of 4 cards.

- Roseanne's Backup BRS 148 serves to fulfill 1 option or all 4 listed.

- Fog Crystal CRE 140 searches for a Psychic-type Basic Pokémon or Psychic Basic Energy from the deck and puts it into your hand.

- Mysterious Treasure FLI 113 Discards a card from your hand to fulfill the card's Tribute: You search the Deck for a Dragon or Psychic Pokémon and put it into your hand.

- Trainers' Mail ROS 92 allows looking at the top 4 cards of your deck and look for any Trainer card (be it supporter, item, tool, stadium) and put it in your hand. The remaining ones are shuffled with the deck.

- Max Elixir BKP 102 Look at the top 6 cards of your deck and on those 6 cards, if a Basic Energy comes, you can attach it to one of your Basic Pokémon on your Bench.

- Spell Tag LOT 190 can only be equipped on a Psychic Pokémon. If that Pokémon is Knocked Out, you put 4 damage counters between your opponent's Pokémon.

- Special Charge STS 105 recycles up to 2 Special Energy from the discard pile to your deck, thus recovering the Twin Energy RCL 174.

- Ordinary Rod SSH 171 is an Item that recovers Pokémon and energies from the discard pile, choosing one of the options or both.

Stadiums

During each player's turn, if the player tries to attach an Energy card from their hand to a non-Psychic Pokémon, it takes two damage counters.

During each player's turn, Psychic-type Pokémon have a colorless Energy cost free on their attacks.

This is very conducive for Mimikyu LOR 80 and Blacephalon CEC 104 to attack for one psychic energy instead of paying the tributes of two energies (psychic and one colorless, saving two turns).

Special Energy

This energy works as two colorless energies. It cannot be attached to Pokémon GX or V. It's essential to speed up Weezing UNB 74.

Advantages

It is a deck with the purpose of having “spread” damage, that is, spreading and branching out these counters as much as possible, to make multiple knockouts possible.

Being a "single prize" deck, the so-called "baby" decks are easier to assemble and more practical to build a strategy because 90% are basic Pokémon, making your bench preparation much more dynamic with your reserves, both for other Koffing and the other attackers like Blacephalon when you have 3 prize cards and Mimikyu to deal massive damage against Pokémon with higher rarity like EX, GX and V.

Disadvantages

- Decks that use “spread” or “sniper” damage like Greninja-VUnion, Mewtwo-VUnion, Venusaur & Snivy-GX CEC 1, Moltres & Zapdos & Articuno-GX HIF 44, Kyogre SHF 21, Sableye LOR 70, Blastoise VMAX PR-SW SWSH103, Kingdra BUS 31, Kyurem NVI 34, Kyurem PR-SM SM142, Kyogre PRC 53, Tyranitar CES 87, Tyranitar TEU 85, Hydreigon NVI 79, Hydreigon BREAK STS 87, Yveltal BREAK STS 66, Blaziken DRM 6, Orbeetle VMAX VIV 21, Morpeko VMAX SSH 80, Tapu Koko PR-SM SM30.

- Decks that hit twice in the same turn, such as Jumpluff EVS 4, Medicham PRC 81, Medicham V EVS 83, Origin Forme Dialga VSTAR CRZ GG68.

- Deck based on Arceus & Dialga & Palkia-GX CEC 156 with its GX attack active.

- Pokémon that negate effects, such as damage counters.

- Tanks that constantly heal, have high HP and can replenish energy to hit fast, such as Blissey V CRE 119, Togekiss VMAX VIV 141 and Dracozolt VMAX EVS 59.

Conclusions

It is a simple deck with a practical strategy to build in the game, being able to do multiple damages and multiple knockouts against “single prize” decks to draw 4 to 5 prize cards in a game at a certain point in the game,
