Introduction

Greetings, Pokémon community!

The latest Pokémon TCG set, Phantasmal Flames, has been out for a few weeks, as it came out on November 14th, 2025. This means the new cards were available at the Stuttgart Regional in Germany on November 29th, which took place after the LAIC. Many players were excited to see new strategies in action and study any newly upgraded decks.

One of the most exciting decks to come back was Charizard Box. The winner of the Stuttgart Regional, Nicolai Stiborg, brought an upgraded version and took down all the competition in their path.

Without further ado, let's see how it works!

Deck Structure

Terastal Charizard ex: The Main Attacker

Loading icon

Its ability is an incredible energy engine. When you evolve Charizard ex (either manually through Charmeleon or through Rare Candy MEG 125 and Charmander), you can get up to 3 Basic Fire Energy SVE 10 from your deck and attach them to your Pokémon however you like.

Its main attack deals 180 damage plus 30 extra damage for each Prize card your opponent has taken. It can deal at most an extra 150 damage this way (30 x 5), which adds up to a total of 330 damage.

Terastal Terapagos ex: The Alternative Attacker

Loading icon

This Pokémon stands out because of its first attack, Unified Beatdown, which deals 30 damage for each Pokémon on your bench.

You can deal more damage if you increase your bench to 8 slots with Area Zero Underdepths SCR 131. This Stadium activates as soon as you put a Terastal Pokémon in play (such as Terapagos ex SCR 128).

Recursive Pokémon

"Baby" Pokémon

Noctowl SCR 115's ability lets you look for a card in your deck and get it when you evolve it (from Hoothoot SCR 114 to Noctowl SCR 115) and if you have any Terastal Pokémon in play.

Fan Rotom SCR 118's ability lets you look for at least 3 colorless Pokémon with less than 100 HP in your deck and add them to your hand, but only in the first turn of the game. By itself, it can also be an excellent "single prize" attacker if you put a Stadium in play.

Klefki sv1 96 also has a great ability. If Klefki is your active Pokémon, all basic Pokémon in play can't use abilities, except for Klefki. Yes, this affects both your Pokémon and the opponent's Pokémon.

Dusclops and Dusknoir have the same ability. It lets you sacrifice them to put damage counters on enemy Pokémon (a spread strategy). After you do this, these Pokémon are instantly knocked out.

Dusclops PRE 36 gives you 6 damage counters, while Dusknoir PRE 37, its evolution, gives you 13 damage counters.

"Rule Box" Pokémon

Fezandipiti ex SFA 38's ability, Flip the Script, draws three cards for you if one of your Pokémon was knocked out on the previous turn by enemy attacks.

Pidgeot ex sv3 164's ability, Quick Search, lets you get any card you want from your deck.

Trainers

Supporters to Get Pokémon and Evolution Lines

Dawn is definitely a great card from the new set. She lets you filter 3 cards from your deck: 1 basic Pokémon, 1 stage 1 evolution Pokémon, and 1 stage 2 evolution Pokémon.

Supporter to Draw More Cards Per Knockout

Loading icon

Briar supports your Terastal Pokémon ex. If one of your Terastal Pokémon ex knocks out the opponent's active Pokémon, she lets you draw 1 extra Prize card.

Keep in mind, you can only play this card if the opponent has exactly 2 Prize cards left.

Supporter to Sabotage the Opponent and Renew Your Hand

Supporter to Pull Enemy Pokémon

Stadium

Loading icon

This Stadium increases your bench from 5 slots to 8 slots if you have a Terastal Pokémon ex in play.

Ideally, you should play it after you put Charizard ex sv3 125 or Terapagos ex SCR 128 in play.

ACE SPEC

Loading icon

This "item" ACE SPEC lets you pull a benched enemy Pokémon into the active spot. However, afterward, you'll also have to replace your active Pokémon with one of your benched Pokémon.

You should use it to knock out specific Pokémon.

Special Energy

This energy lets you move your Pokémon around. When you attach it to one of your benched Pokémon in particular, it lets you put it in your active spot automatically.

Pros and Cons

Pros

This deck is a great answer to the meta and deals a lot of damage. It doesn't deal a lot of damage at once, but, because of Charizard ex sv3 125, it has good answers for the late game and end game.

Terapagos ex SCR 128 and Area Zero Underdepths SCR 131 also deal a considerable amount of damage together.

Finally, it can easily set up Pokémon because of Dawn PFL 87.

Cons

This list only plays 5 basic Fire energies, which is a bit risky. They could all end up in your Prize card pile and basically destroy all your plans.

It also doesn't recycle a lot of these energies, as it only plays 1 Super Rod sv2 188 and 1 Night Stretcher SFA 61. Both can also end up in your Prize card pile.

Furthermore, the deck itself relies on evolution Pokémon and takes a while to get to Charizard ex sv3 125. It doesn't play many ways to evolve these Pokémon faster, like Rare Candy PGO 69 or Technical Machine: Evolution sv4 178 either.

To make matters worse, it only plays 2 Charizard ex sv3 125, which means it might also end up in your Prize card pile.

Finally, it plays Charmeleon PFL 12 from Phantasmal Flames. This isn't ideal because we could just use Charmeleon sv4pt5 8 from Paldea Fates, which has a stronger ability. It would be the safest choice.

Final Words

If you enjoy Charizard ex sv3 125, this is a fine deck. Charizard will also still be relevant at least until next year, before it rotates out of the format. As such, it is a great investment for the following months, particularly as the new cards from Phantasmal Flames, like Dawn PFL 87, made getting resources from your deck a lot easier.

If you'd like to get Charizard ex sv3 125 and Pidgeot ex sv3 164, you can get the League Battle Decklink outside website. You'll get 70% of the cards!
