Introduction

Today, we'll discuss the best Kingdra in Pokémon TCG, since the Wizards of the Coast era until today.

Top 10 Best Kingdra in Pokémon TCG

10 - Kingdra (Wizards of the Coast Era: Neo Genesis)

Let's start with one of the first cards ever released in the Wizards of the Coast era. Back then, we used Blastoise BS 2's ability, "Rain Dance", to get the energies we needed to use Kingdra N1 8's attacks. The synergy between them was critical.

Its first attack, Agility, prevents all effects of attacks, including damage, done by enemy Pokémon if you get "heads" on its coin toss. This essentially makes Kingdra immune.

As for its second attack, Dragon Tornado, it deals 50 damage. If you didn't knock out the enemy Pokémon with this attack, your opponent had to swap it with one of their benched Pokémon.

9 - Kingdra (Black/White: Plasma Freeze)

Its first attack, Dragon Vortex, deals damage according to how many Basic Water Energy sv2 279 and Basic Lightning Energy sv1 257 are in your discard pile. It deals 20 damage for each energy. Then, they are all shuffled back into your deck.

Its other attack, Tri Bullet, lets you pick three targets and deal 30 damage to each, so it was a "sniper" attack.

8 - Kingdra (Sword/Shield: Lost Origin)

This Kingdra stands out because of its ability, Seething Currents, which shuffles both your hand and your opponent's back int your decks and draws both of you 4 new cards. It is similar to "Judge FST 235". You can use this ability both to renew your hand and disrupt your opponent without necessarily using a Supporter.

7 - Kingdra (Sword/Shield: Battle Styles)

Its attack, Aqua Burst, deals 40 base damage + 40 extra damage for each Basic Water Energy sv2 279 attached to Kingdra BST 33. If it has 10 energies attached, you'll 400 damage!

Its ability, Deep Sea King, gives you the energies you need by letting you move them from one of your knocked out Pokémon to Kingdra itself.

6 - Kingdra (Sun/Moon: Burning Shadows)

This Kingdra focuses on "sniper" attacks. Its second attack, Tornado Shot, forces you to discard one Basic Water Energy sv2 279 to deal 90 damage to the opponent's active Pokémon and 30 to one of their benched Pokémon as well.

As for its first attack, Brine, it deals 90 damage to any enemy Pokémon with damage counters.

5 - Kingdra (Scarlet/Violet: Paradox Rift)

This Pokémon's attack, Whirltide, lets you look at the top 6 cards in your deck and deal 60 damage for each Basic Water Energy sv2 279 you reveal this way. Then, you'll discard these energies and return the other cards back into your deck.

Its ability, Spray Splash, lets you put one damage counter (10 damage) on each enemy Pokémon each turn. Its attack, Dragon Steam, deals 60 damage for just one Basic Water Energy sv2 279, which was very efficient at the time.

3 - Kingdra-EX (X/Y: Fates Collide)

Its attack, Dragon Trail, deals 60 base damage + 30 extra damage for each Basic Lightning Energy sv1 257 attached to it. In Expanded, you can rely on Magnezone FLI 36 to deal a lot of damage with this attack.

2 - Kingdra-GX (Sun/Moon: Dragon Majesty)

Its attack, Hydro Pump, deals 10 base damage + 50 extra damage for each Basic Water Energy sv2 279 attached to it. With 8 energies, you'll deal 410 damage!

In Expanded, to get the energies you need to use this attack, you can use Baxcalibur sv2 60 or Blastoise BCR 31's ability, Rain Dance. To get the water energies you need, you can use Capacious Bucket RCL 156.

1 - Kingdra ex (Scarlet/Violet: Shrouded Fable)

Its first attack, King's Orders, summons 3 Water Pokémon from your discard pile straight onto your bench, similar to Archie's Ace in the Hole PRC 124. Its second attack, Hydro Pump, deals 50 base damage + 50 extra damage for each Basic Water Energy sv2 279 attached to Kingdra, so it can deal up to 400 damage.
