This attack deals 100 damage; however, if the Trainer card Rosa's Encouragement me03 084 is in your discard pile, the attack gains an additional 150 damage, for a total of 250!Boosting the DamageTo boost the damage by another 30 points, we have Brave Bangle WHT 80; for example, if you use the Solar Coiling attack, it can reach 280 damage!Support Pokémon"Baby" Pokémon- Meganium MEG 10 ensures the doubling of basic Grass Energy via its Wild Growth Ability, boosting the energy setup for Serperior me03 006's second attack, Solar Coiling.- Budew PRE 4 plays a role thanks to its first attack, Itchy Pollen, which acts as a disruptor by preventing the opponent from using Item cards on their next turn.- Shaymin DRI 10 is included for its Flower Curtain Ability, which blocks direct damage from the opponent against your "single-prize" Benched Pokémon!Keep in mind that Pokémon with a Rule Box do not benefit from Shaymin DRI 10's Ability. It can even be used on your very first turn of the game, bypassing the current Standard rule that only the second player can use Supporter cards.- Dawn PFL 87 functions as a Pokémon search card, allowing you to search for 1 Basic Pokémon, 1 Stage 1 Pokémon, and 1 Stage 2 Pokémon.This card is important because the deck features two Pokémon with these high-stage evolution lines (Stage 2).- Rosa's Encouragement me03 084 facilitates attaching 2 basic Energy cards from your discard pile to one of your Stage 2 Pokémon; however, you can only play this card when you are losing the game—that is, when you have more Prize cards remaining than your opponent.- Boss's Orders MEG 114 provides a "Catcher effect," meaning it allows you to pull a Pokémon from your opponent's Bench into the Active Spot to secure a specific Knock Out on one of their Pokémon.Pokémon Searcher- Ultra Ball MEG 131 searches for any Pokémon (either evolution or basic), provided you meet the requirement of discarding 2 cards from your hand.- Buddy-Buddy Poffin TEF 144 allows you to search your deck for up to 2 basic Pokémon with up to 70 HP and place them directly on your bench. (If there is no space on the bench to place a Pokémon, you cannot play this card).- Bug Catching Set TWM 143 looks at the top 7 cards of the deck and searches for a combination of 2 cards that can be Grass archetype Pokémon (either basic or evolution) and/or basic energies of the same archetype.- Poké Pad me03 081 searches for a “baby Pokémon” in the deck, that is, those that do not have a Rule Box.Supporter SearcherEnergy and Pokémon RecyclersToolStadiumForest of Vitality MEG 117 helps accelerate the evolution of your Grass-type Pokémon (except when playing that Basic Pokémon for the first time on the turn it was put into play).ACE SPECMax Rod is an Item card that allows you to recycle a combination of 5 cards from your discard pile (which can be Pokémon and/or basic Energy cards) directly into your hand!ConclusionThis is a very budget deck to build—the cards are easy to find (with the exception of Max Rod PRE 116)—and it is quite consistent when dealing with Dark-type Pokémon, such as the recent Mega Darkrai ex.Additionally, other Darkness Pokémon can be targeted—such as Marnie's Grimmsnarl ex DRI 136, Mega Absol ex me01 086, and Mega Sharpedo ex me02 061—to exploit the archetype's weakness to Grass pokémon.See you in the next article!
