Top 10 Most Beautiful Cards in Twilight Masquerade

10 - Eevee (Illustration Rare - 188/167)

This Eevee definitely earned a spot on our list, particularly because it is one of the most successful Pokémon for the Pokémon Company, alongside Pikachu.

This artwork was created by Narumi Sato, who took part in the Pokémon Card Game Illustration Grand Prix. Her main work was an Eevee.

She has worked extensively with the Pokémon franchise since Sword/Shield: Shining Fates. These are some of her work:

The Pokémon TCG community speculated that each Eevee in this card would get their own evolution, like the image below:

9 - Applin (Illustration Rare - 185/167)

This illustration by Katsunori Sato is incredibly vivid, and highlights how lively green is.

Katsunori Sato has only started creating cards for the Pokémon Company recently, in Scarlet/Violet: Temporal Forces set, and has only created four cards so far:

This is a great artist to follow because their manual coloring technique is just incredible.

8 - Perrin & Hisuian Growlithe (Secret Illustration Rare - 220/167 | Illustration Rare - 181/167)

This is one of the most coveted cards from this set (particularly for collectors) because of its artwork. It was also one of the first cards to be revealed from "Twilight Masquerade"; GIDORA, the artist, used the point of view of Perrin's photographic lens, a "fish-eye" lens, to capture this Hisui Growlithe.

GIDORA is a known name in Pokémon TCG. They created many works for the Pokémon Company, like Charizard LOR TG03 and Boss's Orders BRS 132.

7 - Infernape (Illustration Rare - 173/167)

Krgc, the artist, put in a lot of work to capture the liveliness of these flames. They are known for their cartoon style and dynamic fighting poses.

They also started to work with the Pokémon Company recently, in Temporal Forces, but have created artworks for some Japanese sets, like Battle Academy, namely in Night Wanderers, with Charcadet and Sneasel. This set will be released in the west in August as Shrouded Fable.

Check out more of their work:

6 - Heliolisk (Illustration Rare - 177/167)

Tonji Matsuno is also new to the Pokémon Company. Their style focuses on using colors so efficiently that, in digital form, their realistic scenarios are as close as you can be to these Pokémon and their universe.

All of their technique bursts through this Heliolisk, which is just breathtaking. You can see how they carefully drew the refraction of the light in hexagons in this illustration, as if this Pokémon over the water was photographed by a "camera". It is also very similar to their first work, Frogadier sv3 57.

Keep in mind that, in the current meta, many players use another Pokémon created by this artist: Charmeleon sv4pt5 8!

5 - Wattrel (Illustration Rare - 178/167)

As we step into our top 5, we have this Mistuhiro Arita illustration. This artist is quite revered in the Pokémon universe. We even mentioned them in our article covering the most important artists in Pokémon TCGlink outside website.

4 - Chimecho (Illustration Rare - 179/167)

This is another freelance artist who stood out to the Pokémon Company after they entered the Pokémon Illustrator Grand Prix. They won the event with Arcanine PR-SW SWSH304, and were hired.

This artist's style focuses on adding realistic details to illustrations through texture, artificial or natural. They are even careful about the Pokémon's type - if they have fur, they try to capture its texture, and if they're a Steel Pokémon, for instance, they try to reproduce their steel exterior, shining and polished. Here's this wonderful Scarmory created by them:

This Chimecho, however, was inspired by real life bells used in Shinto shrines, quite known in eastern cultures.

3 - Torkoal (Illustration Rare - 172/167)

Our third place is once again occupied by a Masa card. Masa depicts Pokémon quite realistically and creates wonderful backgrounds for them. We also mentioned them in this article covering the top 10 most beautiful cards in Temporal Forceslink outside website. Their first work was Meltan TEF 179, in that same set.

This illustration shows an old gentleman who is being helped by many Torkoal. Together, they're creating several vases and ceramic pieces; notice how the hearth they're using was drawn in a style that resembles "impressionist" paintings. These subtle brushstrokes express and depict a certain object or person in a way that is much closer to reality than usual.

2 - Froslass (Illustration Rare - 174/167)

Our second place is, well-deservedly, this incredible Froslass depiction of a sort of entity that wanders through Japanese homes, which is true to its inspiration, Yuki-Onna. Yuki-Onna is a feminine snow spirit that kidnaps beautiful people and chains them in her lair as a sort of "trophy or decor".

This illustration was created by matazo, who, even though they haven't created many cards for the Pokémon Company as they've only just begun working with this franchise, never disappoints. For instance, they created this Blitzle sv4 195, which we also mentioned in this articlelink outside website as our seventh place.

This is another artist you should follow closely.

1 - Greninja ex (Secret Illustration Rare - 214/167)

Finally, our first place is Greninja's Terastal form, which was depicted quite seriously as a sovereign.

The several "splashes" of vivid color around the Pokémon, the three-dimensional aspect of the teardrops, the water shurikens, and the Pokémon itself, its Terastal mechanic represented with this "stained-glass" effect gave us a new opportunity to see the beauty of the Terastal form. A few other cards that were illustrated this way are also incredibly beautiful, like Charizard ex sv4pt5 234, Charizard ex sv3 223, and Garchomp ex sv4 245, all created by Oswaldo KATO.

This Greninja artwork was created by akagi, which is also new to the Pokémon Company. They have been surprising us with their rich colors and textures.
