In this article, we'll show you 10 strong and interesting eeveelutions in Pokémon TCG - considering cards from the Wizards of the Coast era until today. Today is Flareon's turn!
Top 10 Best Flareon in Pokémon TCG
10 - Flareon (Sun/Moon: Cosmic Eclipse)
The "baby" Kanto evolution lines in Sun & Moon were released as support cards, and each version had a different goal.
This Flareon, with its ability, Power Cheer, grants an extra 30 damage to eeveelution attacks* (any "baby" version or even an Eevee-GX PR-SM SM174). Some of the evolutions that benefit from this are:

9 - Flareon (Sword/Shield: Vivid Voltage)
Its ability is what stands out the most because we activate it with Memory Capsule VIV 202: "if this card is attached to a Pokémon, it can use attacks from its previous versions, that is, its previous evolutions and basic form".
In this case, we'll activate its evolution's ability, which tells us: if Flareon VIV 26 has the tool above equipped, it will disable all abilities from Grass Pokémon in play, both ours and the opponent's.
Grass Pokémon we can sabotage are: Venusaur SLG 3, Venusaur PGO 3, Rillaboom SHF 13, Cherrim BST 8, Cherrim UPR 11, Shining Celebi PR-SM SM79, Vileplume AOR 3, Meganium LOT 8, Araquanid UPR 17, Shuckle LOT 16, besides Radiant Venusaur PGO 4 and Radiant Tsareena SIT 16, and support Pokémon, such as Kricketune V BST 6, Virizion-EX PLB 9, Forretress ex sv4pt5 2, Toedscruel ex sv4pt5 5, Espathra ex sv4pt5 6 and Celebi-EX BCR 9.
8 - Flareon (X/Y: Ancient Origins)
In this set, the classic eeveelution trio had abilities that changed the types of your Pokémon. In Flareon AOR 13's case, the Flare Effect ability gave all of your stage 1 Pokémon the Fire type as a secondary type, which would allow us to interact with several "baby" stage 1 cards, Pokémon GX, and ex cards in Scarlet & Violet in Expanded.
Keep in mind that Pokémon V, in their VStar and VMax forms, aren't considered stage 1 Pokémon, so, this ability doesn't apply to them.
7 - Flareon (Wizards of the Coast: e-Card Series: Skyridge)
Once again, the entire Kanto eeveelution trio had similar mechanics in this set. Their abilities would allow us, by attaching one energy card from our hand that matches our archetype (in Flareon SK H7's case, a Basic Fire Energy sv3 230), to remove all special conditions from the Pokémon in question.
However, this Pokémon stands out because of its attack, Burn Booster, which allowed you to discard Fire energy cards to increase its attack damage, which would then deal 40 base damage + 10 damage for each energy card discarded this way.
If this card was available in Expanded (with more HP), it would have access to excellent support cards: Welder UNB 189a and Blacksmith FLF 88, which would help you attach more energy cards to it.
6 - Flareon (Sword/Shield: Promo Card)
The second-best promo eeveelution card in the Sword/Shield block, Flareon PR-SW SWSH041, has the same concept as its predecessor, Flareon MD 19, from Diamond & Pearl: Majesty Dawn.
The subtle differences are that its first attack already makes the enemy Pokémon "Burned", and its second attack is more destructive, considering it deals 120 damage instead of 70. However, it still forces you to discard one energy card from Flareon PR-SW SWSH041 to discard one energy card from the enemy active Pokémon - which can be powerful if our opponent is using Grass Pokémon.

5 - Flareon ex (Ruby/Sapphire: Delta Species)
This Pokémon stood out a lot as one of the eeveelutions in Worlds 2006's winning deck, and conquered our fifth spot because of its many functionalities, which were strong for the format at the time:
► Its ability, Evolutionary Flame, would work as soon as you evolved an Eevee DS 69 in play to play Flareon ex DS 108 from your hand to the board on that turn. If you did, enemy Pokémon would get two "bad statuses": Confused and Burned.
► Its first attack, Flame Screen, allowed us to reduce an enemy's attack damage by 20 points.
4 - Flareon (Scarlet/Violet: 151)
Once again, to close off the eeveelution trio in the Scarlet/Violet special set, 151, we have this Flareon and its attack, which deals 90 + 90 damage, reaching 180 damage. If you equip it with a Supereffective Glasses ASR 152, you'll triple this value, and deal 540 damage.
And the best thing about all of this? This card is available in 2024 Standard, just like the tool listed above.
3 - Flareon-EX (X/Y: Generations)
Its role is simple: discard Fire energy cards to deal more damage.
Its ability, Flash Fire, allows us to move one Fire energy card from our Pokémon to Flareon-EX GEN RC6, so we can use its Blaze Ball attack and deal 50 + 20 damage for each energy card attached to it.
Keep in mind that we can boost this further with Charizard PGO 10's ability: if we have at least 8 Fire energy cards attached to Flareon-EX GEN RC6, we'll deal 50 + 160 damage, totaling 210 damage. However, if we use Charizard PGO 10's ability, which doubles these Fire energy cards, these 8 cards will become 16, so, you'll deal 320 damage (16 x 20). With the 50 base damage, we'll deal up to 370 damage!
2 - Flareon-GX (Sun/Moon: Promo Card)
All "baby" eeveelution Pokémon from Sun/Moon: Cosmic Eclipse boost another eeveelution-GX in some way.
If we use Flareon CEC 25's ability to grant an extra 30 damage to Flareon-GX PR-SM SM171:
► Its attack, Heat Stage, will deal 60 damage instead of 30, and will also allow us to get three Basic Fire Energy sv3 230 from the discard pile and attach them to one of our Pokémon in any way we want. Like so, we can prepare a new attacker that is stronger and heavier, such as Reshiram & Charizard-GX UNB 20, Charizard & Braixen-GX CEC 22, Charizard VMAX DAA 20, Charizard VSTAR CRZ 19, Charizard ex sv3pt5 6, or even Centiskorch VMAX SHF SV109.
► Its second attack, Bright Flame, instead of dealing 190 damage, will deal 220 (because of Flareon CEC 25's ability). We'll need to discard two Fire energy cards attached to this Pokémon, which we'll then easily recover with Welder UNB 189a and Blacksmith FLF 88.

Finally, we have its GX attack, Power Burner, which deals 20 damage for each Fire energy card in the discard pile. Furthermore, we can use Volcanion-EX PR-XY XY173's ability: by discarding one Fire energy card, your active Pokémon will deal an extra 30 damage on that turn.
1 - Flareon VMax (Sword/Shield: Evolution Skies )
We've reached our podium with this iconic and powerful Flareon, which has a very straightforward goal - however, your deck will need more energy cards than Trainers.
Its attack, Max Detonate, forces you to discard the top five cards in your deck, and, for each energy card discarded this way, it will deal 100 damage, which means we can deal up to 500 damage if we discard five energy cards.
