Pokémon TCG: Everything about the former Starter Deck Generations!

We have news! On November 22, 2024, in Japan, the product called Starter Deck Generations will be launched, where each deck symbolizes a generation of Pokémon, namely: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar and Paldea. Each deck will feature a specific Pokémon chosen to represent it.

The product will cost around ¥850 yen each, approximately 6 USD.

Another product that was also announced is the Special Battle Set, which contains decks from the 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th generation of the franchise, costing in the range of ¥4650 yen, approximately 30 USD.

For us in the West, it is certain that the launch will take place in 2025, but, for now, there is no information whether these cards will be included in base sets as a final combination of one of them or whether they will be sold separately, like "theme decks". from the "ex Starters" line, which are currently being sold.

Kanto

Pikachu ex & Snorlax ex

PIKACHU EX

Basic Pokemon.

- Tail Whap (C): deals 30 damage.

- Thunder (L)(L)(C): deals 180 damage, but takes 30 damage to itself.

SNORLAX EX

Basic Pokemon.

- Strength (C)(C)(C): deals 80 damage.

- Toss and Turn Press (C)(C)(C)(C): throw three coins; and for each hit with “heads” there is 120 times the damage.

Johto

Tyranitar ex & Lugia ex

TYRANITAR EX

Pokémon stage 2: evolves from Pupitar.

- Crush (C): deals 50 damage for each energy attached to Tyranitar.

- Tyrant Crash (D)(C)(C): deals 150 damage, and you choose a random card from your opponent's hand to be discarded.

LUGIA EX

Basic Pokemon.

- Hyper Whirlpool (C)(C)(C): deals 140 damage and throws as many coins as you want until it comes up “tails”. For each hit, you discard an Energy attached to the opposing Active Pokémon.

Hoenn

Blaziken ex & Kyogre ex

BLAZIKEN EX

Pokémon stage 2: evolves from Combusken.

- Overflowing Spirit Ability: During your turn, you can attach a basic energy from the discard pile to any of your Pokémon.

- Burning Assault (F)(C): deals 200 damage, but in the next turn, Blaziken ex will not be able to attack.

KYOGRE EX

Basic Pokemon.

- Undulating Waves (W)(C)(C): deals 80 damage and forces your opponent's Active Pokémon to be retreated to the Bench, so that a new opposing Benched Pokémon is promoted to the active position (the opponent who will choose the exchanges).

- Tidal Surge (W)(W)(C)(C): deals 230 damage and discards two energies linked to Kyogre ex.

Sinnoh

Lucario ex & Dialga ex

LUCARIO EX

Pokémon stage 1: evolves from Riolu.

- Aura Uppercut (F): deals 50 damage.

- Tornado Rush (F)(C): deals 100 damage; but on the next turn, the Tornado Rush attack will gain 100 more damage (before applying weakness and resistance).

DIALGA EX

Basic Pokémon.

- Scream of Time (M): deals 20 damage and draws a card.

- Metal Blast (C)(C)(C): deals 100 damage plus 20 damage for each metallic energy connected to Dialga ex.

Unova

Amoonguss ex & Reshiram ex

AMOONGUSS EX

Pokémon stage 1: evolves from Foongus.

- Spore Ball (G): deals 30 damage and the opposing active Pokémon is asleep.

- Mushroom Swing (G)(C): deals 100 damage and throws a coin; and if it comes up “heads”, it causes an additional 80 points.

RESHIRAM EX

Basic Pokémon.

- Fire Wing (F): deals 40 damage.

- Scorching Fire (F)(F)(C): deals 200 damage and discards energy linked to Reshiram ex.

Kalos

Noivern ex & Xerneas ex

NOIVERN EX

Pokémon stage 1: evolves from Noibat.

- Strafe (C): deals 50 damage and exchange Noivern ex for one of your Benched Pokémon to be promoted to the active position.

- Sonic Blast (C)(C)(C): deals 220 damage, but takes 30 damage to itself.

XERNEAS EX

Basic Pokémon.

- Aurora Beam (P)(C): deals 50 damage.

- Rising Horn (P)(P)(C): deals 120 damage; but if the active opposing Pokémon is a former Pokémon, this attack gains an additional 100 points of damage.

Alola

Mimikyu ex & Tapu Koko ex

MIMIKYU EX

Basic Pokémon.

- Mischievous Hands (P)(C): choose two of your opponent's Pokémon and place 3 damage counters on them.

- Ghost Trip (P)(P)(C): deals 120 damage; and the opposing Active Pokémon is confused.

TAPU KOKO EX

Basic Pokémon.

- Thunder Connect (L)(C): deals 60 damage plus 20 additional points to each Pokémon on your bench.

Galar

Alcremie ex & Zacian ex

ALCREMIE EX

Stage Pokémon: evolves from Milcery.

- Ability Sweet Gift: during your turn, you can heal 30 points of damage to one of your Pokémon.

- Whip Shot (P)(C)(C): deals 160 damage.

ZACIAN EX

Basic Pokémon.

- Steel Armament (C): deals 20 damage and searches your deck for a Basic Metal Energy SFA 99 in your deck and connect it to Zacian ex, and then shuffle your deck.

- Slashing Strike (M)(M)(C): deals 210 damage, and in the next turn, Zacian ex will not be able to use Slashing Strike.

Paldea

Paldean Clodsire ex & Koraidon ex

PALDEAN CLODSIRE EX

Pokémon stage 1: evolves from Paldean Wooper.

- Poison Ring (D)(C): deals 60 damage; and the opposing Active Pokémon will be poisoned and will not be able to retreat the next turn.

- Giga Impact (D)(D)(C): deals 220 damage, and Paldean Clodsire ex will not be able to attack in the next turn.

KORAIDON EX

Basic Pokémon.

- Claw Slash (F)(C): deals 50 damage.

- Revenge Buster (F)(F)(C): deals 100 damage; but if any Pokémon on your bench have any damage counters, that attack gains 120 more points.
