Introduction

Destined Rivals, the latest Pokémon TCG set, was released last May and brought back "Trainer's Partners". As such, it featured many incredible trainers, including Misty, the iconic Water gym leader from Cerulean.

Misty is beloved by many players, particularly because of the games and the anime series. So, we decided to gather the 10 most expensive Misty cards so far, until the first semester of 2025, from the early western Wizards of the Coast era to the exclusive Japanese sets in the current days.

In this article, we're considering how much these Misty cards cost in dollars.

Top 10 Most Expensive Misty Cards in Pokémon TCG

10 - Misty's Quagsire (Japanese Set: Pokémon VS - 058/141)

This "VS" set was, to us in the west, similar to Gym Heroes and Gym Challenge. These sets still featured "Trainer's Partners", but they also featured Johto Pokémon and a wider variety of Kanto Pokémon. This set was actually never released in the west, so it's quite rare even now.

This Quagsire was in Misty's team in the Gold/Silver/Crystal era and also showed up in future game titles, like Heart Gold & Soul Silver.

Price: US$ 45.

9 - Misty's Lapras (Japanese Set: Pokémon VS - 057/141)

Just like Quagsire, this card is also from the "VS" set.

It is the second Misty card in this set, and it is more valuable because Lapras is more relevant and popular than Quagsire.

Price: US$50.

8 - Misty's Psyduck (Scarlet/Violet: Destined Rivals - Illustration Rare - 193/182)

This Psyduck was illustrated by OKACHEKE, who we mentioned back in our article about the most beautiful cards from Destined Rivalslink outside website. They are a very prominent Pokémon artist because they have worked for multiple animated Pokémon series. They also started working for the company after competing at a Grand Prix.

Just like Starmie, Psyduck is also a very popular Pokémon, and will always be valuable to its fans.

Price: US$64.

7 - Misty's Gyarados (Scarlet/Violet: Destined Rivals - Staff Promo Card, Pre Release Event)

This card was just released and handed out at Destined Rivals pre-release events. It is more expensive because it has a Staff stamp, which only promo cards given to judges and official event organizers have.

Price: US$65.

6 - Starmie V (Sword/Shield: Astral Radiance - Trainer Gallery - 191/173)

As you must have noticed, this isn't exactly a "Misty" card, but she shows up in the artwork, and Starmie is one of Misty's signature Pokémon.

Starmie V was essential in Water archetypes alongside Origin Forme Palkia VStar as an alternative attacker because it is easy to set up. Its first attack ignores any enemy effects and abilities, and the second deals damage based on how many energies are attached to all enemy Pokémon.

Price: US$85.

5 - Kasumi's Tears/Misty's Tears (Classic Set Japanese - City Gym Decks - Hanada City Gym)

Image content of the Website

This is the Japanese version of Misty's Tears G2 118.

It is "similar" to Earthen Vessel PRE 106, as this card lets you discard a card in your hand so you can look for two energies in your deck. Misty's Tears, in turn, lets you look for two basic Water energies.

The Japanese version was a bit controversial because of its artwork, which was considered a bit too much for younger audiences. It wasn't well-received in the west, while, in Japan, this wasn't an issue because of cultural differences.

Price: US$100.

4 - Misty (Wizards of the Coast Era: Gym Heroes - 1st Edition, Holo Foil)

Image content of the Website

This was a support card for the Misty archetype. It makes your Misty Pokémon deal 20 extra damage to the opponent's active Pokémon, but only if you discard two cards in your hand.

Price: US$160.

3 - Misty & Lorelei (Sun/Moon: TAG TEAM GX (sm12a) - Tag All Stars - 191/173)

Image content of the Website

Part of the Japan-exclusive Tag Team All Star set never made it to the west, including this Misty & Lorelei version, which wasn't in Cosmic Eclipse.

This card has two excellent effects: it lets you retreat your active Pokémon and, if you also discard two cards from your hand, it also heals the Pokémon you retreat with it by 120 HP.

It was very relevant in Sun & Moon's Standard format, right at the end of the block.

Price: US$249.

2 - Misty's Gyarados (Wizards of the Coast Era: Gym Challenge - 1st Edition, Holo Foil)

Image content of the Website

This card managed to grab our second place because it is a "1st Edition", so it became a lot more valuable over time.

In the Wizard of the Coast era, it was decent enough, competitively speaking, because of its ability, which forces you to flip two coins whenever you attack. If you fail both, Gyarados can't attack and you'll have to shuffle it back into your deck, as well as all cards attached to it.

Price: US$250.

1 - Misty's Favor (Sun/Moon: Unified Minds - Full Art - 235/236)

Our first place recycles 3 Supporters from the discard pile for us.

It wasn't that popular in Sun & Moon's Standard format, but it is this valuable now because of Misty herself!

Price: US$388,99.
