Introduction

In this article, we'll show you the most expensive Umbreon in Pokémon TCG, that is, the most expensive Dark eeveelutions!

Please note we'll show how much these cards cost in USD. They're also the English version of the cards.

Top 10 Most Expensive Umbreon of All Time

10 - Umbreon VMax (Prize Pack Series from "Sword/Shield: Evolving Skies" - 095/203)

Image content of the Website

This card is originally from Evolving Skies, which focused a lot on eeveelutions. However, it stands out from the others because of the Prize Pack logo just above the text box. That logo was only featured in the promo boosters given out in official Pokémon leagues. This is what makes it even more valuable - only a few of these packs were given out. More specifically, they were only given out to players who competed at these events.

Price: USD 500.

9 - Umbreon ex (Ruby/Sapphire: Unseen Forces - 112/115)

This was the first "Umbreon ex" ever released (just like Espeon ex UF 102 was the first Espeon ex ever released). It became valuable in the Unseen Forces set even though it didn't stand out competitively as much as Espeon.

It was hardly used in any decks because it uses Darkness energies, which at the time were considered special energies. Back then, there was no way to recycle this type of energy in the format.

Its ability, Dark Ring, was useful, as it is similar to "Boss's Orders", but you have to use it on the turn you evolve Eeevee into Umbreon. It lets you pull a Benched enemy Pokémon into their active spot.

Price: USD 510.

8 - Umbreon (e-Cards Series: Aquapolis - H29/H32)

This card was illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita and is part of a "visual" story set in a fictitious Victorian-style town. This story started in the Japanese set "The Town on No Map".

It depicts Umbreon walking on top of the town houses at night. There is also a "daylight" version of this story that was released as a McDonald's promo card (which we also mention in this article).

Another chapter of this visual story came out later on with Darkrai from Sun & Moon: Unified Minds.

Another factor that makes this card quite valuable is that there is a "Swirl" "Holo Foil" version of it that features a sort of shiny spiral effect. This version costs around USD 1100.

Price: USD 600.

7 - Karen's Umbreon (VS Series - 091/141)

Image content of the Website

This card was illustrated by Hajime Kusajima and belongs to the VS set, which was based around "Trainer's Partner". This set was quite similar to another old set, the Gym set, which focused on the Kanto gym leaders. The VS set included Johto leaders and Elite 4, besides other popular figures.

Because it was never released in the West, it became considerably more valuable among collectors.

Karen, a member of the Johto Elite 4 and a Dark trainer, was only featured in a few cards in all of Pokémon TCG.

Price: USD 673.

6 - Umbreon (e-Cards Series: Mc Donald's Promo Japan - 025/P)

Image content of the Website

As we mentioned back when we discussed Umbreon AQ H29, this is the "daylight" version of the story told in a few of Mitsuhiro Arita's artworks.

It was only released in Japan, never in the West. It only became really valuable in 2019 when fans started to notice how beautifully drawn it is.

Price: USD 740.

5 - Umbreon (e-Cards Series: Skyridge - H30/H32)

This is the second "e-Card" design in this list, and it was illustrated by Atsuko Nishida. They're one of the most important Pokémon artists in the entire game and are considered the "mother" of many eeveelutions.

The card itself, however, stands out because of its ability, Dark Gaze, which prevents Benched Pokémon (yours and your opponent's) from using Poké-Powers (activated abilities that were different from Poké-Bodies, the passive abilities).

Price: USD 764.

4 - Umbreon (Black/White: Staff Promo Card, Regional Championships/League & Championship Cards - 60/108)

Image content of the Website

Just like Espeon DEX 48, this card was only given out exclusively to "staff" in regional and international tournaments at the time. It also features the "staff" logo, which makes it more valuable.

Price: USD 800.

3 - Umbreon ex (Scarlet/Violet: Prismatic Evolutions 161/131)

This is considered a recent card, as it only came out in the special Scarlet & Violet "Prismatic Evolutions" set in March 2025. It is the most valuable card in the entire set and should become even more valuable as time goes on.

Ever since it was released, many fans stated it would probably become one of the most expensive cards in the history of the entire game. We also mentioned this in our article about the most expensive cards from prismatic evolutionslink outside website.

Price: USD 995.

2 - Umbreon VMax (Sword/Shield: Evolving Skies - 215/203)

Our second-most expensive Umbreon is this VMax Umbreon that became valuable much like Umbreon ex PRE 161 did. It mostly stood out during the Sword & Shield block. From 2022 onward, it became insanely more valuable, and the community started investing in it.

The Japanese version in the Eevee Heroes set costs around USD 1800.

Price: USD 1300.

1 - Umbreon "Gold Star" (Ruby/Sapphire: POP Series 5 - 17/17)

Just like Espeon ★ pop5 16, this card is one of the most expensive cards of all time in all of Pokémon TCG. It was released in 2005 in one of the Pop Series promo boosters.

These boosters were available in licensed Pokémon Company stores, and local and international tournaments, like Prize Packs are distributed nowadays, from Sword & Shield to Scarlet & Violet (to the date this article is written).

Price: USD 3000.
