Introduction

Now that Shrouded Fable is here, we can finally rediscover a few Pokémon that were forgotten in the past and play them in Standard. Today, we'll explore Hisuian Typhlosion VSTAR ASR 54, which, with the help of Dusknoir SFA 20, will knock out many Pokémon. Its VStar attack, Shimmering Star, is also quite efficient.

Its first attack, Singe, is incredibly useful: for no cost at all, you'll make the opponent's Active Pokémon Burned. They'll take 20 damage per turn if they miss their coin toss on their turn.

Its second attack, Petrifying Flame, besides dealing 120 base damage, lets you pick a random card in your opponent's hand, make them reveal them, and return it to their deck. This will be quite disruptive.

Hollow Flame deals 180 base damage and lets you put 3 damage counters on Benched enemy Pokémon however you like. It is ideal alongside the rest of the damage you'll deal at long-term, bit by bit.

As for its VStar attack, Shimmering Star, it was the inspiration for this deck. If your opponent's Active Pokémon has four damage counters, you can use this ability and knock it out immediately. The idea is to use it on your opponent's most powerful Pokémon, as you can only use this ability once per game.

This is when you should use your other crucial Pokémon, Dusclops SFA 19 and Dusknoir SFA 20, as their abilities give you damage counters to put on enemy Pokémon.

Mimikyu: Attacker Immune to Pokémon V and Pokémon ex

Mimikyu's ability, Safeguard, makes it immune against damage from Pokémon V and Pokémon ex, which are currently the most popular Pokémon in the meta. You can use it as a "shield" to set up your other Pokémon and then use its attack, Ghost Eye, to put 7 damage counters on the opponent's Active Pokémon.

Dusclops & Dusknoir: More Damage

These two Pokémon have the same ability: they both give you damage counters to put on enemy Pokémon. Dusclops SFA 19 gives you 5 counters, and Dusknoir SFA 20 gives you 13 counters. However, if you use their abilities, they'll both be knocked out and give your opponent a Prize card.

No worries, though: this "disadvantage" is a combo you can use to your favor. First, take this opportunity to use Counter Catcher sv4 160 and pull a certain Pokémon into the Active Position. Then, use your Hisuian Typhlosion VSTAR ASR 54's attack, Shimmering Star, to knock out an enemy Pokémon.

►To set up energies on your "draw power" Pokémon, use Xatu sv4pt5 26's Clairvoyant ability. With it, you'll be able to attach one Basic Psychic Energy sv3pt5 207 from your hand to one of your Benched Pokémon and then draw two cards.

►With Manaphy BRS 41's ability, Wave Veil, you'll be able to protect your Pokémon from any "sniper" attacks.

► With Radiant Alakazam SIT 59's ability, Painful Spoons, you'll be able to move damage counters on enemy Pokémon and set them up to knock them out later before you even use any attacks. You'll also be able to set these damage counters to use Hisuian Typhlosion VSTAR ASR 54's VStar attack.

Mew ex sv3pt5 151's ability, Restart, draws you cards until you have 3 in hand.

It can also be an attacker because of its attack, Genome Hacking, which lets you copy enemy attacks.

Item to Evolve Duskull into Dusknoir

You can use Rare Candy PGO 69 to skip the game's natural evolution mechanic. Duskull >> Dusclops >> Dusknoir.

With this item, you can skip a step and go straight from Duskull to Dusknoir. Then, just use its ability, Cursed Blast, to put 13 damage counters on enemy Pokémon.

Item to Recycle Supporter Cards

As this list doesn't play too many Supporters, this card is crucial. With it, you'll recycle Boss's Orders BRS 132 or Iono sv4pt5 80.

Tools

- Forest Seal Stone SIT 156 is essential for Hisuian Typhlosion V PR-SW SWSH237 and Hisuian Typhlosion VSTAR ASR 54, as they can use this tool.

However, think carefully when you play this card, as it is best in cases of emergency, particularly if you notice you won't be able to use Shimmering Star in that game. According to the rules of the game, you can't use more than one VPower per match, and this includes abilities and VStar attacks!

- Technical Machine: Devolution sv4 177 is great to knock out multiple Pokémon if all enemy Pokémon have counters and low HP.

- Decks with Charizard ex sv4pt5 54.
