Edit Article

As Temporal Forceslink outside website released on March 22nd, 2024, I decided to bring you a few suggestions of different decks with cards from this set. This set brought us more strategies with the upgrade to ACE SPEC cards (an exclusive Temporal Forces feature) in some decks that are already well-established in the meta, and also new Paradox Pokémon, which have gotten stronger after this set was released.

Deck Suggestions: Temporal Forces

Analysis

This Paradox version of "Raikou" doesn't have the weakness issues as its previous versions did because it is a Dragon type, and therefore doesn't have any weakness to its own type nor the Fairy type.

So, it will deal absurd amounts of damage with its second attack if you discard all the energy cards attached to your Pokémon, considering each energy card boosts the damage you cause by 70 points.

This list also has Sandy Shocks ex sv4 108: its ability will get a basic Fighting Energy GRI 169 from your discard pile for you if your opponent is winning the game with 4 Prize Cards left or less. The idea of including Lucario PR-SW SWSH186 is also interesting, considering it will get a basic Fighting Energy GRI 169 in your deck and attach it to itself with its ability. This will help you get the energy cards you need to attack with Raging Bolt ex TEF 123.

Analysis

In the section of "Paradox Pokémon - Johto Beasts", this version of "Entei", Gouging Fire, can be a new option for the Fire archetype, which is quite unpopular in the meta right now.

Unfortunately, you can't use its attack, Blaze Blitz, consecutively if you leave it in the active position, so, ideally, you'll retreat it with a card like Switch Cart ASR 154.

As secondary attackers in this deck, we have Entei V BRS 22 and Moltres BRS 21, which will complement the 260 damage caused by Gouging Fire ex TEF 38.

Walking Wake ex

Analysis

Completing the trio of Paradox Johto Beasts, we have Walking Wake ex TEF 50. Its attack deals 120 + 120 damage if your opponent's Pokémon are affected by any special statuses.

Therefore, the greatest support this deck has is Brute Bonnet sv4 123, which, if equipped with Ancient Booster Energy Capsule sv4 159, will give both active Pokémon (yours and your opponent's) "Poisoned". This way, Walking Wake ex TEF 50 can deal as much damage as possible.

To give us more counters per turn, we have Radiant Hisuian Sneasler LOR 123, which will allow us to put 2 damage counters on enemy "Poisoned" Pokémon per turn.

Analysis

We have a mixture of different strategies in this deck with Ancient Paradox Pokémon:

- Roaring Moon ex PR-SV 67's first attack knocks down Pokémon instantaneously, but it puts 20 damage counters on itself. Its second attack deals 100 + 120 damage if there are any stadiums in play.

- The first attack of Roaring Moon TEF 109's "baby" version deals 70 plus 10 damage for each card with "Ancient" on it in your discard pile.

- Koraidon TEF 119's first attack (F)(C) deals 30 damage for each Ancient Pokémon in play, which means, you can deal up to 180 damage.

- Flutter Mane TEF 78's ability, Midnight Fluttering, disables abilities of all Pokémon in play, except yours, as long as it is in the active position. Additionally, its attack deals 90 damage and allows you to put 2 damage counters on your opponent's benched Pokémon in any way you want to.

Because this deck has "tech" cards like Professor Sada's Vitality sv4 170, Explorer's Guidance TEF 147, Ancient Booster Energy Capsule sv4 159, and Awakening Drum TEF 141, we can extract as much value out of Roaring Moon TEF 109 as we can, for instance.

It is an excellent list for those who want to build a strong but cheap deck, and, at the same time, invest in a "Rogue Deck".

Analysis

This deck's game plan is quite simple: attach energy cards to your Pokémon as fast as you can to use Iron Hands ex sv4 70's second attack, Amp You Very Much, which will give you more Prize Cards. To execute this, we have the Miraidon TEF 121 Electric Generator sv4pt5 79 combo.

Finally, to deal more damage with Iron Hands ex, we'll use Iron Crown ex TEF 81's ability and Future Booster Energy Capsule TEF 149.

Analysis

Gengar ex TEF 104's deck consists in sabotaging your opponent's energy cards with its attack. As a complement, in this version we have Roaring Moon ex PR-SV 67 to remove stadiums from play and deal 220 damage, or knock out big Pokémon on the board with a "hit K.O." when it's absolutely necessary.

There's another version of this deck which showed up on January 24th, 2024, with Gengar ex and Hisuian Samurott VSTAR ASR 102. Click herelink outside website to check it out.

Analysis

This deck only has one big difference when compared to its original list: Prime Catcher TEF 157, the ACE SPEC card, which has an effect similar to Guzma BUS 115, only it is an item card - which will allow you to use it more flexibly.

Of course, as Battle VIP Pass FST 225's popularity will go down a lot after the April 2024 rotation, we have Buddy-Buddy Poffin TEF 144 as its replacement. It is perfect to look for Pidgey sv3pt5 16, Bidoof CRZ 111, Manaphy BRS 41, Jirachi sv4 126, and, of course, the essential Charmander sv3pt5 4.

Analysis

The April 2024 rotation will remove Battle VIP Pass FST 225 from this format, so we'll use Buddy-Buddy Poffin TEF 144 to look for Frigibax sv4pt5 17 in this deck. So, we'll set up Baxcalibur PR-SV 19 with Irida ASR 147, which will get us Rare Candy PGO 69, besides Baxcalibur itself.

In this version, we'll use Iron Hands ex sv4 70 to knock down more Pokémon and draw more Prize Cards - something I also suggested a while ago in this listlink outside website.

Cinccino as a Secondary Attacker

The star in this list is Cinccino TEF 137. Its second attack, Special Roll, deals 70 damage for each special energy card attached to this Pokémon, which makes it an excellent "single prize" attacker. This once again will bring out Lugia-VStar's strength in this format and its whole structure back into the metagame.

Wigglytuff ex as a Tanker and Attacker

Wigglytuff ex sv3pt5 40 has returned as strong as ever. Its ability, Expanding Body, allows you to add +100 HP to this Pokémon if it has any energy cards attached, which will set its HP to 350. In this list's "maybe board", we have Hero's Cape TEF 152, the ACE SPEC card, which will give Wigglytuff an extra 100 HP, which will total 450 HP!

Considering Path to the Peak CRE 148's popularity will go down in April 2024, this Pokémon might be an option for players who enjoy "tanker" decks that have more durability, even more so with Cheren's Care BRS 134, which will heal your colorless Pokémon.

Final Words

These were my deck suggestions with Temporal Forces. Remember, you can change them and adapt them to your taste!

Thank you for reading, and see you next time!
