Today, we'll show you the top 10 strongest and most interesting Typhlosion in the history of Pokémon TCG, considering cards since the Wizards of the Coast era until today.
This is one of the three Johto starters, and represents the Fire archetype!
Top 10 Best Typhlosion of All Time
10 - Typhlosion (Wizards of the Coast Era: Neo Genesis)
This Typhlosion is like an "all or nothing".
- Its ability, Fire Boost, lets you toss a coin whenever you play Typhlosion from your hand. If you hit "heads", you get to search your deck for up to four Basic Fire Energy sv3 230 and attach them to this Pokémon.

- Its attack, Flame Wheel, forces you to discard three Basic Fire Energy sv3 230, but deals 80 base damage to the active Pokémon plus 20 damage to each Pokémon on the enemy bench + your Benched Pokémon, and, as such, was like a "sniper" attack.
Because its ability relies on luck, and its attack deals damage to your own Pokémon, it isn't that great, which is why we added it to our tenth spot.
9 - Typhlosion (Wizards of the Coast Era: Neo Genesis)
Still from the WotC era, this Pokémon's ability, Fire Recharge, is incredible, considering that, even if it does force you to toss a coin to use it, it is consistent. You can use it once whenever it's your turn. If you hit "heads", you get to search for a Basic Fire Energy sv3 230 in your discard pile and attach it to one of your Pokémon.
Flame Burst, its attack, is great if you hit your coin toss, as it deals 60 + 20 damage if you hit "heads". However, even if you hit your coin toss, your Pokémon will take 20 damage as a "recoil" effect.
8 - Typhlosion (e-Cards Series: Expedition)
This Typhlosion earned its spot because of its ability, Heat Up.
It states that you, before attacking, may count how many energies both your Pokémon and your opponent's Pokémon have attached. If they have more energies than you, you get to search in your deck for a Basic Fire Energy sv3 230 and attach it to one of your benched Pokémon.
7 - Typhlosion (Diamond/Pearl: Mysterious Treasures)
This Typhlosion's ability is simply incredible!
Firestarter lets you, in your turn (before attacking), get one Basic Fire Energy sv3 230 from the discard pile and attach it to one of your benched Pokémon. It is superior to Typhlosion N1 17, for instance, as this Pokémon relies on a coin toss to work.
And it also has a great attack, considering it counters its counter archetype, Water. Its attack, Evaporating Heat, discards one Basic Water Energy sv2 279 from the defending Pokémon.
6 - Typhlosion (Sun/Moon: Promo Card)
This was a promo card in Sun/Moon: Unbroken Bonds's Triple Pack, and is, at the same time, recursive and aggressive:
Its first attack, Exploder, is excellent, as it gets you three Basic Fire Energy sv3 230 from your deck and lets you attach them to your Pokémon in any way you want. Its second attack, Bursting Inferno, deals 100 damage and Burns the enemy Pokémon.
5 - Typhlosion (Ruby/Sapphire: Unseen Forces)
This was one of the best Johto starters in this set. It has a built-in combo with its ability and its second attack that deals a devastating amount of damage!
Burning Aura: while this Pokémon is in the active position, Typhlosion and the active enemy Pokémon get 1 damage counter between turns.
Then, here's the gist of it: its second attack, Rage, deals 50 base damage + 10 damage for each damage counter on Typhlosion, and like so can deal up to 150 damage!

In some countries, this product was released as a Half-Deck, a "pre-built", Fire and Fighting deck featuring "foil" Ho-Oh UF 27 and regular Typhlosion UF 17:
4 - Typhlosion (X/Y: BREAKthrough)
Typhlosion BKT 20's first attack is basically the inspiration for Infernape BRS 26, from Sword/Shield: Brilliant Stars. With it, you'll discard the top 5 cards in your deck, and, for each energy you discard this way, you'll deal 80 damage, which means you can deal up to 400 damage!
Its second attack is a way to sabotage your opponent because, besides dealing 130 damage to your opponent's active Pokémon, you may discard one energy from Typhlosion. Then, your opponent's Pokémon will also have to discard one of their energies.
3 - Typhlosion (Sun/Moon: Lost Thunder)
In our third spot, we have this Typhlosion from Sun/Moon that has an incredibly strong ability: Blazing Energy, until the end of your turn, turns all the energies attached to your Pokémon into Fire energies. This is ideal for combos with Pokémon like Blacephalon UNB 32 or Turtonator DRM 50.
Its attack, Lost Flame, besides dealing 120 base damage, removes two energies from your opponent's active Pokémon and puts them in the Lost Zone.
Its attack might be expensive, but you can get the energies you need for it with Charizard PGO 10's ability.
2 - Typhlosion ex (Ruby/Sapphire: Sandstorm)
In our second spot, we have this Typhlosion ex SS 99, which is incredibly aggressive. It's the type of Pokémon that doesn't let your opponent breathe.
Its first attack, Ring of Fire, besides dealing 40 symbolic damage, Burns your opponent and prevents it from retreating on the next turn.
Its second attack, Split Blaster, deals 100 damage to the opponent's active Pokémon and has another effect: if your opponent has more Pokémon in play than you, even if it's just one Pokémon, you may discard one energy attached to Typhlosion ex SS 99 to deal 50 damage to all their Pokémon.
1 - Typhlosion ex (Ruby/Sapphire: Unseen Forces)
In our very first place, we have Typhlosion ex UF 110, and its ability, Bursting Up: during your turn, if you play Typhlosion ex from your hand to evolve one of your Pokémon, you may count the number of Pokémon in your opponent's bench. Then, search in your deck for that same amount of basic Fire energies, and attach them to one of your Fire Pokémon.
As for its attack, it is quite nice. Kindle is a way to "sabotage" your opponent, as, besides dealing some damage, you may discard one energy attached to Typhlosion ex and then discard one energy attached to your opponent's active Pokémon!
