Introduction

In today's article, we'll discuss Metagross VMax, a Pokémon that is easy to set up, as it only needs two energies to attack.

Furthermore, because of its HP, it is very resilient, and, with Max Potion, it is even more durable, though this card will force you to discard all energies attached to it. Bronzong, then, becomes an essential support Pokémon, as it lets you move Metal energies between Pokémon and, as such, saves your energies when you use Max Potion.

This deck also plays Pokémon that are useful in many ways, like Zacian V and Zamazenta V, which can both attack and support other Pokémon. Let's explore all of these elements in detail throughout this article!

Deck Structure

Metagross V & Metagross VMax: The Main Attacker

Metagross - both its basic form and its Dyna evolution - is extremely efficient because it doesn't need many energies to attack. This way, you'll be able to save the resources in your deck for other attackers.

Metagross VMAX CRE 113 will be your main focus.

Its attack, Max Rush, deals 100 damage in one turn, then 250 on the next, as long as Metagross VMax remains your active Pokémon. If you retreat it, you'll have to start over.

Zacian V & Zamazenta V: Attackers and Supporters

Zacian V's ability, Intrepid Sword, is extremely versatile:

First, it reveals three cards from the top of your deck, and, if they're Basic Metal Energy SFA 99, you can attach them directly to Zacian V.

If the cards you reveal this way aren't energies, you can also just draw them.

Please note that, when you use this ability, you'll end your turn immediately.

Zacian V is excellent early on, as, with it, you'll be able to get energies from your deck. Then, you'll just need to move them with Bronzong PR-SW SWSH091.

You can also use Forest Seal Stone SIT 156 with it, and this card lets you get any card in your deck, which is quite useful.

Zamazenta V's ability, Regal Stance, lets you discard your hand and draw up to five cards. Just like Zacian V, if you use this ability, you'll end your turn immediately.

With this ability, you'll discard Basic Metal Energy SFA 99. Then, you'll use Metal Saucer SSH 170 to get these energies back and attach them to your benched Metal Pokémon.

Its attack, Revenge Blast, is excellent in the endgame, as it deals 120 base damage plus 30 extra damage for each Prize card your opponent took.

Just like Zacian V, you can also equip Forest Seal Stone SIT 156 to it.

Zacian VStar: Occasional Attacker

Zacian VStar is an alternative for immune opponents, like Miltank ASR 126 or Mimikyu sv2 97, considering its attack, Break Edge, ignores these effects and deals 200 fixed damage.

Recursive Pokémon

Bronzong PR-SW SWSH091's ability lets you move basic Metal energies between your Pokémon, so it is great with Max Potion GRI 128a.

Mew ex's ability, Restart, is incredibly helpful, as it draws three cards if you have less than two in hand. Furthermore, its attack, Hacking Genoma, can copy attacks on active enemy Pokémon in certain situations.

Pros and Cons

Pros

This deck is great against Water decks, which are weak against Metal Pokémon. It is also efficient against decks that take a while to attach energies to its attackers.

Cons

This deck struggles against Fire archetypes and One Hit K.O. strategies.

Final Words

This is an accessible, fun deck for anyone who likes the Expanded format and Metal Pokémon.

Your main strategy is setting up Bronzong and Zacian V as fast as possible, while Metagross V is your active Pokémon. If you follow this game plan, this strategy will be both consistent and efficient.
