Introduction
Greetings, Pokémon community! Today, we'll explore the most beautiful cards from the new set, Mega Evolution, which was released a month ago on September 26th, 2025.
The Top 10 Most Beautiful Cards in Mega Evolution
10 - Delibird (Illustration Rare - 152/132)

This artwork was created by Takeshi Nakamura, who has somewhat recently started working for The Pokémon Company. They have created 21 cards so far, mostly for the Scarlet & Violet block.
In particular, this illustration stands out for depicting Delibird in its natural habitat, with glaciers and other Delibirds all around.
The details of its reflection in the water and the horizon, which gets blurrier and blurrier the further it is and thus shows the perspective of the lake, are what set this artwork apart from the others.
9 - Vulpix (Illustration Rare - 138/132)

This card was created by saino misaki, who is also a relatively new Pokémon artist. They started working for the Pokémon Company in the Sword & Shield block.
This Vulpix also stands out for its rich background, that is, the detailed kitchen and, of course, the incredible reflections on the metal rods on the right side of the card, as well as the pans and pots. The perfect perspective looking up from the ground and the lighting from the flames in the fireplace that then bounce off Vulpix's silhouette are great technical details and incredible to look at.
8 - Inteleon (Illustration Rare - 142/132)

This artwork was created by Ligton, another new Pokémon artist. They have created 18 cards so far.
This one, however, stands out because of the water, which is actually quite complex to capture because it can quickly come out weird or chaotic. Ligton definitely understands how water works in real life, considering how they represented it so realistically in this cartoonish setting.
The water physics in this card work really well, and the vibrant blue hues are simply incredible. The overall shapes also undoubtedly make this one of the most striking cards in this set.
7 - Wally's Compassion (Secret Illustration Rare - 186/132)

This Secret Illustration Rare was created by Jiro Sasumo. We've discussed this artist before in our article about the biggest Pokémon artists.
The vivid colors they used for this card really match the main character, Wally, who actually makes it even more vibrant. We can see that in the series of elements in the background, mainly the florals, as they visually bring back Gardevoir precisely because this Pokémon resembles a plant.
It all fits together nicely, and we can deduce this character is all about nobility. It all makes sense considering their story and all the details we mentioned above.
6 - Steelix (Illustration Rare - 150/132)

This card was created by Tonji Matsuno, another new Pokémon artist. They're known for drawing Pokémon as if they were capturing them with a camera, "photographed" in a way. One similar example is Frogadier sv3 57.
In this card in particular, Matsuno employed all their technical skills to draw the reflection on Steelix's metal exterior.
5 - Mega Absol ex (Secret Illustration Rare - 180/132)

This card was created by the incredible Mitsuhiro Arita, who has been working for the Pokémon Company for a long time. We've also mentioned them in our article about the biggest Pokémon artists.
This Absol almost brings back Batman looking down on Gotham City from the top of a skyscraper, like a "vigilante in the night".
And, speaking of "night", here's a question: could this Absol have anything to do with Noivern V EVS 196?
Curiously, this artwork also brings back the other "night" Pokémon Arita usually draws, like Umbreon AQ 41 from the Aquapolis set.
4 - Mega Gardevoir ex (Secret Illustration Rare - 178/132)

This card was created by Raita Kazama, who combined Art Nouveau, an art style that embraces natural curves and elements with floral, arabesque arrangements. They also reference stained glass elements, which were also pretty common for this style at the beginning of the 20th century.
This card stands out precisely because, around the central Pokémon, Gardevoir, you'll find its past evolutions, Ralts and Kirlia. It shows every Pokémon in its evolution line until the final evolution, the "Mega Evolution".
3 - Bulbasaur, Ivysaur & Mega Venusaur ex (Illustration Rare & Secret Illustration Rare - 133/132|134/132|177/132)

This card was created by mashu, a very new breakout Pokémon artist. They graduated from the Kyoto University of the Arts and have only created 10 cards so far.
This evolution line forms a gorgeous tropical mosaic, with floral arrangements and ferns.
2 - Mega Lucario ex (Secret Illustration Rare - 179/132)

Our second most beautiful card in this set is this dynamic, detailed, rich artwork by Atsushi Furusawa.
This artist's artworks always have rich backgrounds, like Mega Abomasnow, Mega Latias, Mega Mawile, Mega Kangaskhan, and Mega Manectric. In particular, this one highlights the battle between Mega Lucario and Mega Venusaur, which are the main stars in this set.
Just like Dragonite V EVS 192 from Sword & Shield, I appreciate art that values backgrounds and tells a story through the rich details.
1 - Mega Latias ex (Secret Illustration Rare - 181/132)

Our most beautiful card from this set is this incredible artwork by Akira Egawa, a popular Pokémon artist who has worked considerably in the last two Pokémon TCG generations. We've also talked about her in our article about the biggest Pokémon artists.
This card is impressive because Egawa has used the colors perfectly to reflect Latia's extreme speed as it soars through the skies. The psychedelic strokes make it even more unique.
Furthermore, the "fisheye" perspective of the city below, at the same time blurry and densely detailed, shows how this artist takes inspiration from real life and how this makes their work incomparable. It's clear why Egawa stands out so much as a Pokémon artist.
