Introduction
Today, we'll start exploring Hoenn with the Hoenn Grass starter, Sceptile. We'll take a look at a few cards since it first appeared in Ruby/Sapphire, in 2003, and revisit some recent cards.
So, without further ado, let's go!
Top 10 Best Sceptile of All Time
10 - Sceptile (X/Y: Primal Clash)
We'll start with this Sceptile, which stands out because of its ability. It lets you move one Basic Grass Energy sv2 278 from your hand to any of your Pokémon in play, and also heals that Pokémon by 30 points.

9 - Sceptile (Sun/Moon: Celestial Storm)
This Sceptile from the Sun & Moon block has a really interesting ability. It prevents any damage dealt by Ultra Beast Pokémon, which were popular when this Pokémon was released.
Its attack, versatile and efficient, deals 20 damage for each energy attached to all your Pokémon. The best part is that this attack considers energies of all kinds, so it used to be an excellent option for any strategy.
8 - Sceptile (X/Y: Primal Clash)
In the X/Y era, some "baby" Pokémon had special abilities inspired by the Greek alphabet. This Sceptile, for instance, has an ability called "Omega" that makes it immune to enemy Supporters.
Furthermore, its attack, *Power Poison", deals 120 damage and Poisons the opponent's active Pokémon if you discard one energy attached to it.
7 - Sceptile (Ruby/Sapphire: Emerald)
This Sceptile from the Emerald set, more specifically from the Ruby/Sapphire block, stood out because of its ability. It protects your active Pokémon from special conditions if you attach at least one Basic Grass Energy sv2 278 to them.
6 - Sceptile (Ruby/Sapphire: Base Set)
This was the first Sceptile ever released. Its ability (or Poké-Power) lets you move one Basic Grass Energy sv2 278 from one Pokémon to another. So, at the time, we would be able to save energies from a Pokémon that was about to be knocked out, and transfer them to another Pokémon of our choice.
5 - Sceptile (Diamond/Pearl: Great Encounters)
This Sceptile, the last "baby" Pokémon in this list, from Diamond & Pearl, has an incredible ability. It doubles the number of Basic Grass Energy sv2 278 you attach to Pokémon on your board.
4 - Sceptile ex (Ruby/Sapphire: Team Magma VS Team Aqua)
This Sceptile "ex" from the Team Magma VS Team Aqua set had three great, distinct attacks:
- Green Heal heals up to 4 damage counters from all your Pokémon that have Grass energies attached.
- Poison Ring, besides dealing damage, Poisons the active enemy Pokémon and prevents them from retreating.
- Slashing Strike is a powerful attack that knocks out enemy Pokémon, but you can't use it two turns in a row.
3 - Sceptile ex -Delta Species- (Ruby/Sapphire: Crystal Guardians)
This "Delta" Sceptile has an ability that disables Pokémon ex abilities (yours and your opponent's), and increases the cost of their attacks by one colorless energy.
Its main attack deals 60 base damage plus 10 extra damage for each Prize card your opponent took.
2 - Sceptile-GX (Sun/Moon: Lost Thunder)
Speaking of Pokémon GX, this Sceptile was, in its time, a versatile and efficient attacker.
Its first attack discards a special energy attached to your opponent's active Pokémon. Its second attack deals damage and lets you attach an energy to one of your benched Pokémon.

As for its GX attack, it heals all your Pokémon if they have any Grass energies attached.
1 - Mega Sceptile-EX (X/Y: Ancient Origins)
This Pokémon's main attack, Jagged Saber, deals 100 damage and lets you move two Basic Grass Energy sv2 278 from your hand to your benched Pokémon. It also heals that Pokémon entirely.
Though powerful, this Pokémon needed Sceptile Spirit Link AOR 80 in Expanded. With this card, you could evolve it and not pass your turn immediately.
Its base forms are:
In Expanded, we could use a few cards with M Sceptile-EX AOR 8 to use the attacks on its previous forms:
► Shining Celebi PR-SM SM79's Time Recall ability.
