Introduction

Greetings, Pokémon Community! Today, we'll show you some lists with Phantasmal Flames, the second base set in the current block, Mega Evolution. As the name suggests, all sets in this block center around Mega Pokémon ex, which have now returned to the game after a long time.

Let's see them!

Decks with Phantasmal Flames

Mega Heracross ex

This strategy centers around how resilient Mega Heracross ex PFL 4 is. It is a basic Pokémon that has a lot of HP and can become even bigger if we use cards like Hero's Cape TEF 152, Bravery Charm sv2 173, and, of course, Ludicolo JTG 37.

We can also use Jumbo Ice Cream PFL 91, a healing tool, besides Ludicolo PFL 7 (from Phantasmal Flames) itself.

After you make Mega Heracross ex PFL 4 as resilient as possible, you'll use its first attack. This is how it works: if Mega Heracross ex took 60 damage in the last round, this attack will deal 60 + 100 (the base damage).

Teal Mask Ogerpon ex TWM 25 is an essential energy support card as well as card draw. The idea is to use its ability to put a Basic Grass Energy sv2 278 in play and then move it to Mega Heracross ex PFL 4 with Energy Switch sv1 173.

Mega Charizard X ex

This is a Charizard Box variant that plays the Mega Charizard from this set, Mega Charizard X ex PFL 13. You'll have to discard the Basic Fire Energy sv3 230 attached to your Pokémon to deal more damage with it, but overall it is quite powerful.

To make this strategy work, you'll need Oricorio ex PFL 18. With this Pokémon, you'll attach Basic Fire Energy sv3 230 to your Pokémon in the first place, as long as you put a Mega Pokémon ex in play first.

We've already discussed this strategy when we covered the cards revealed during the Japan release, that is, the original set named Inferno X. If you'd like to see more about it, click herelink outside website.

Mega Gengar ex

This Pokémon got positive reviews when it was released. It is the perfect way to counter Garde-Box because it is a Darkness Pokémon.

Recently, we also got a Mega Battle Decklink outside website centered around Mega Gengar ex that is supposed to be functional straight out of the box. Many players have also updated this deck list to be more competitive.

The list above is one of these versions, but without Gengar ex TEF 104. It focuses exclusively on Mega Gengar ex.

Mega Sharpedo ex

Finally, we have Mega Sharpedo ex PFL 61. This Pokémon is easy to build, strong, and relatively easy to set up with energies. All you need to do is play Toxtricity PFL 68 with it.

With Toxtricity, you'll attach energies to your benched Pokémon. You'll also have to put 2 damage counters on them, which may seem troublesome but is actually part of the entire strategy.

With these energy counters in play, Mega Sharpedo ex PFL 61 will deal more damage to enemy Pokémon. In fact, it will deal 270 damage to the opponent's active Pokémon.

The combo with Pecharunt ex SFA 39 is also quite useful because it lets you move your Darkness Pokémon around. It also makes the Pokémon you move Poisoned, but you can take advantage of that with Binding Mochi PRE 95 and deal even more damage.
